Thanks to Semi Engineering for the opportunity to discuss how Edge AI is helping bring reliable medical imaging beyond the clinic and into the home.

As healthcare devices become more patient-operated, processing intelligence locally becomes critical. In medical applications, latency, reliability, and real-time guidance can impact the user experience and quality of results. This is why Edge AI, intelligent sensing, and AI-native Edge compute matter. By running embedded AI on-device, healthcare systems can help deliver faster feedback, more reliable imaging, and greater accessibility in real-world environments.

Appreciate the conversation with Pulsenmore on what responsible, real-world Edge AI deployment can look like.

Humanoid robotics is advancing quickly, but natural interaction still depends on depends on solving very human challenges.

Thank you to Semiconductor Engineering and Liz Allan for the thoughtful discussion featuring perspectives from Sam Toba and John Weil, along with Nebu Philips and our partner Robert Otręba CEO of Grinn Global.

One theme stood out clearly: vision alone is not enough. Real-world interaction requires touch sensing, voice understanding, contextual awareness, and fast, local processing that enables real-time response.

As humanoids move into more dynamic environments, intelligent sensing and low-latency Edge AI will become increasingly important.

Thanks to Liz Allan and Semiconductor Engineering for the thoughtful discussion on how battery management systems are evolving alongside AI-enabled devices and software-defined systems.

John Weil shared an important point: future devices are unlikely to deliver dramatically longer battery life. Instead, they’ll be expected to deliver more intelligence, more features, and more on-device AI within similar power constraints.

That balance between performance, efficiency, and power optimization is becoming increasingly important as more AI processing moves to the Edge across automotive, industrial, and IoT applications.

From a development board to product-grade experiences: Edge AI in action.

At Google I/O, the Synaptics Coralboard™ and the “Jellectronica” immersive experience come together to showcase how on-device intelligence powers real-time, multimodal experiences. From tracking live motion with computer vision to generating music instantly, this is Edge AI moving beyond concept and into the real world.

Powered by the Synaptics Astra™ SL2619 platform with the Synaptics Torq™ NPU and Coral NPU from Google Research, the Coralboard enables developers to build, test, and deploy intelligent applications with speed and efficiency across Industrial and Smart Home environments.

This is what the next-generation of Edge IoT use-cases looks like in action.

If you are attending Google I/O at Shoreline, Mountain View, this week, don't forget to visit the Gemma pavilion and experience the Coralboard first hand.

User experience was center stage at this week’s Google I/O 2026, as AI-enabled capabilities continue to reshape how people interact with the products they use every day.

A highlight for our team was seeing “Jellectronica” featured ahead of the keynote on the mainstage. Powered by the Synaptics Coralboard™, the experience transformed live jellyfish movement into AI-generated music using real-time Edge AI.

Our Coralboard demos at the Gemma Playground drew strong interest throughout the event, with developers stopping by to explore the platform firsthand and learn how it can help accelerate on-device AI development with the Synaptics Astra™ AI-Native platform.

Great energy, curiosity, and conversation across the developer community throughout the event. A clear reminder that developers are looking for more accessible, efficient ways to utilize AI directly at the Edge.
