As we begin Women in Construction Week, Eric F. Anderson, Inc. and Five Star Fixtures proudly celebrate the women who help drive our success every day.

More than 80 years ago, our CEO Kristin Anderson’s grandfather founded this company with a commitment to integrity and quality craftsmanship. Today, as a third-generation leader, Kristin carries that legacy forward as the head of our family-owned and women-owned commercial general contracting firm.

Our continued growth and success would not be possible without the strength, leadership, and dedication of the women across our organization. From executive leadership to project management and the jobsite, women play a vital role in shaping our projects and our future.

Rooted in Oakland since 1909, SMU began as a hospital school of nursing and has grown into one of the region’s leading health sciences universities—continuing its mission of educating the next generation of healthcare professionals.

This major expansion includes a 10-story, approximately 260,000-square-foot facility designed to support modern healthcare education with advanced classrooms, labs, and collaborative learning spaces in the heart of Downtown Oakland.

On September 18th, we proudly celebrated EFA's 80th anniversary — a remarkable milestone made possible by the dedication, talent, and partnership of so many over the years.
We were joined by more than 200 guests, including current and former employees and their families, valued clients, trusted partners, and friends of both EFA and Five Star Fixtures.
It was an evening filled with gratitude, connection, and celebration, honoring our shared history and looking forward to the future ahead.

A Celebration of Life for Anthony has been scheduled for July 6 at 12pm, at the Tracy Community Center at 950 East Street.

With a heavy heart, we share the news that Anthony Hutchens, a dedicated employee of EFA for 19 years, has passed away after his battle with cancer over these past several months.

Anthony was an amazing carpenter and served EFA as Foreman to the Service Crew for the last few years. Prior to that worked in both Service and Construction. He was one of the best and most loyal to our EFA family. He had a huge heart and loved his own family more than anything. We will miss him terribly.

We send our deepest sympathy to his wife, Kelly, and his three children, Sofia, Adrianna, and Anthony Jr. If you wish to help, his family has established a GoFundMe campaign to help with expenses.
