INCONEL! For those who me have never heard that word, this is a special blend of stainless, nickel, chromium, with a small amount of a metal called molybdenum. This is primarily used in high heat applications like this part here for a320 airbus. This is one of the inner rings of the jet motor. What an honor to service this part. Estimated to be worth over $250,000. This ain’t the average!

Nothing like some cast iron on a Friday night! This old Cummins transmission came in with some substantial cracks. After digging the cracks out and laying some NI99 back in the repair she should be good for another million miles! For those who don’t know, cast iron is a low ductile, nasty, difficult alloy to work with.
