"About a year ago, I hired Sav LeMark Luxury Homes to renovate my family’s home in Southwest Atlanta. An early 20th-century bungalow that had undergone periodic renovations over its one-hundred-year-plus history, the property required structural and architectural updates, which unexpectedly included critical electrical and insulation installations.
When our family moved in nearly fifty years ago, the home had been updated in a 1970s style, with some walls featuring wood paneling. As a consequence of that renovation, and perhaps several others before it, the house had been stripped of most of its original architectural features. In addition to restoring architectural details that had been lost, we also sought to expand the property's square footage, which was approximately 900 square feet, nearly doubling the structure's size.
The results of the renovation are incredible.
Dale and Stephen assembled a group of talented craftsmen and engineers who restored the home to its 1920s glory. Highlights include combining the original wood flooring with new wood flooring in areas where the original wood had been damaged, as well as in newly constructed spaces. The new and old flooring flows seamlessly throughout the home.
The crown molding and wainscoting placed throughout the home are immaculate, and the tiling in the bathrooms is beautifully assembled. Indeed, the details of the work are so impressive that one can easily get the impression that the architectural gems of the home had been unchanged since the 1920s.
