A major milestone for Seminole County Fire Station 25, and a moment to recognize the trade partners helping bring it to life. 👏

Today’s topping-out ceremony marked how far the project has come and gave the team a chance to thank the people doing the work in the field every day.

When complete, the new station will add another apparatus bay and give Seminole County firefighters more room to operate.

Thank you to the trade partners who have helped get Fire Station 25 to this point.

The real measure of a project is what happens after construction ends.

Ten years later, the USSSA Space Coast Complex continues to deliver on the vision behind it. Take a look at the impact one destination can make.

What does it take to support public safety across a growing city?

For Fort Myers, part of the answer is bringing the people, technology and resources behind the Police Department together in one place.

The City’s new 176,000-square-foot police headquarters will unite divisions that have historically operated across multiple locations, creating a centralized home for investigations, 911 dispatch, crime scene processing, K-9 operations, training, digital forensics and more.

It is the largest commercial building project undertaken by the City of Fort Myers to date, and its impact will reach far beyond the walls of the building.

No. 89 in the nation. No. 1 in Central Florida. 🏆

A milestone like this is worth celebrating, but it’s the people behind it who give it meaning.

As Stephanie Pompeo, Chief Financial Officer, shared, “They’re the ones that got us here, and they’ll continue to help us grow.”

Here’s a look at the celebration from our Sanford headquarters as we marked our first-ever ENR Top 100 ranking and our place as the top-ranked contractor headquartered in Central Florida.

One milestone, thousands of contributions behind it. 👏

What does a fire station need to deliver for the next generation?

Daytona Beach’s new Fire Station 1 Headquarters was built to remain operational during severe weather while supporting faster emergency response, preserving the department’s history, and creating new opportunities for community connection.

Featured in the August issue of Building Central Florida, the project demonstrates what is possible when resilience, functionality, and community impact guide every decision.

From #378 to #89. 🚀

In 1997, Wharton-Smith first appeared on ENR’s Top 400 Contractors list at No. 378. Today, we’re officially No. 89 in the nation and among the Top 100 contractors in the country.

That’s more than a ranking. It’s the result of decades of steady growth, strong relationships, quality work, and people who believe doing things the right way still matters.

Wharton-Smith is also the top-ranked contractor headquartered in Central Florida and one of only five Florida-headquartered companies in the Top 100.

“What makes this achievement especially meaningful is that we’ve proven growth and staying true to who we are can go hand in hand.”
Tim Smith, CEO

This milestone belongs to the people, partners, clients, and communities who have been part of the journey.

No. 89 looks pretty good from here. 👏

For OSHA Safe + Sound Week, we’re highlighting one example of the everyday planning that helps make our jobsites safer.

At the Crest View Ave. WWTF Expansion in Winter Garden, our team recently strengthened its Hazard Communication program by identifying and documenting 142 chemicals and construction-related products onsite. Materials were organized by hazard, incompatible products were separated, Safety Data Sheets were made readily accessible, and dedicated storage was added for LPG cylinders.

It’s detailed work that often happens behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in helping crews understand what they’re working with and reduce risk before an incident occurs.

Safe work is built into the details.

Nearly $15,000 in school supplies collected across Wharton-Smith locations. 🎒📚

As students head back to school, our teams came together to support students in the communities we serve. Employees across our locations collected $7,490 in school supplies, and with Wharton-Smith’s company match, that support grew to nearly $15,000.

In Sanford, our team packed up donations for the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, helping local students start the new school year with the supplies they need.

Thank you to everyone across Wharton-Smith who donated, organized, collected, and helped make this company-wide effort possible!
