Our summer haulers will get first refusal on this winter hauling work. Preference will be given to those who have signed on for the summer asphalt season.

In this industry it’s great to have friends. Thank you to Dustin and Jeremy @ Hopkins Milling and Paving. They joined forces with Derek and Alec today who were operating our 250XF mill. Combined, we were able to knock out downtown Greenville before lunch. 1955 combined hp made the lane and shoulder pass go very quick. 💪

Today wraps up the milling on this 24 mile project. 350,000 SY of pavement removal was completed in just 15 shifts. The roadway Recycling ♻️ kicks off next Friday on this $23.6 mm federally funded highway Rehabilitation project. Project Completion is expected by Labor Day with Major Paving milestones slated for June and July. 🚧

A smooth ride to 🫎 Moosehead Lake is not far away. Please continue to drive safely through our work zones.

Some of you know us for our highway and bridge work; but a few may be surprised to find out that we construct runways, and taxiways too! In 2020 we constructed a brand new taxiway at the Portland Jetport which required 12 hour night construction windows to tie in to two active runways. The taxiway connected runway 11-29 with runway 18-36 and has improved PWM airport operations.

We’ve also rebuilt a taxiway at the Augusta Airport, taxi-lane at the Owls Head Airport and a complete runway rebuild at the Jackman Airport.

We are very excited to begin our newest project in this sector; which will commence this summer:

Gordon Contracting is seeking experienced Excavator Operators for full-time positions with a guaranteed minimum of 55 hours per week during the construction season (April-November). Our projects are primarily located in central Maine and we will NEVER ask you to work out of State.

Last night the sun set on our Clearwater Beach company trip. We had a great week in Florida; team building and making some great memories with plenty of laughs. Thank you to my crew for your hard work and safe practices throughout the year. The days are starting to get longer and before you know it, we will be back in the full swing of early mornings and late nights. I think we are ALL looking forward to the road ahead. 💪
