Last week at LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, Cognixion Founder & CEO Andreas Forsland took the Tech Arena stage for “Giving Voice Through Thought: AI Powered Non-Invasive BCI in Action.”

Andreas demonstrated Axon-R live on stage, showcasing how Cognixion is combining non-invasive BCI, AI, and augmented reality to enable new ways to communicate and interact with technology.

The Tech Arena is LEAP’s immersive showcase for next-generation technology in action, bringing together live demos, emerging technologies, and the teams building them.

Cognixion has been selected as a 2026 Central Coast Innovation Award winner in the Life Sciences category by the Pacific Coast Business Times.

It’s exciting to see the continued growth of innovation across the Central Coast, and we’re grateful to be part of this ecosystem alongside so many companies pushing the boundaries of science and technology.

Pacific Coast Business Times recently featured Cognixion in their article “CCIA 2026: Unraveling the puzzle of ALS with AI,” highlighting the potential of non-invasive brain-computer interface technology to expand communication access.

This position will be working at the cutting edge of augmented reality, AI, and brain-computer interfaces in the context of a wearable medical device. You will help shape the architecture and software systems powering next-generation neurotechnology designed to expand access to communication and independence.

Candidates must have medtech experience. Experience building software within regulated medical device environments is required.

What would it feel like to know exactly what you want to say, but no one can understand you? This problem is at the heart of why we do what we do.

We invite you to imagine what that would feel like to not be able to speak or fully participate in society due to communication limits. Fully aware. Fully present. And unable to communicate.

That frustration is not abstract. It’s lived every day by hundreds of millions of people around us every single day.

What part of communication do you think people take for granted the most?

In this video, Chris Benedict, one of our hashtag and a well known DJ with hashtag , shares what it was like growing up with cerebral palsy and the experience of knowing exactly what he wants to say, but not always being understood. This frustration is shared by others with , , , , , , , and many other conditions that impact audible speech generation.

Our CEO, Andreas Forsland, then walks through what happens when the brain tries to communicate with the body, and where that connection can break down, explaining that those with communication limits often have immense contributions to make to society, but the physical barrier is high to express themselves in a way everyone can understand.
