I made something interesting. This is a live assistants that evaluates accessibility of built environments; there are settings for infants, motor disability, visual impairment and a couple more in working on. It gives recommendations but also links to regulatory information etc

I have a lot of really useful accessibility tools that I haven’t been sharing much because I couldn’t offer them for free. Now I can! I’ll be posting some more soon but I’d love to hear whether people are interested. Most are more on the communication side, although the blind and low vision community has been super duper engaged.

On the SLP/AAC side interest has been lukewarm, but I think that’s because people don’t know the nature of these tools or what I’m doing. It would be trivial, for example, to use a camera stream like this to inform prediction in AAC. How do I know this? Because I’ve done it and it is working right now. In my model full utterances can be constructed for adults wifh 1/3 the number of hits as AAC and 1/5 as many as a typical person with iOS, and when add some specific sensors beyond the camera I’ve had problems with it accurately predicting language before the user even enters anything at all.

Anyway, this is useful. Patent pending on a few things so come talk to me 😉 I can share a lot more anytime. I’ll get more of these up tonight I imagine, unless I wait for Tuesday to share with SLPs 🤷

The Richest People in History

I built a complex alt text generator for large, information-rich visuals by request. While testing, I've processed thousands of vintage maps, schematics, and infographics. They're paired with a visual description but very cool in their own right! Tons of curriculum applications, among other things. Get ahold of me if you'd like to try the AI! Relief Map of Africa

I have developed a sophisticated tool that generates detailed alternative texts for large, content-heavy images upon request. During the testing phase, I have analyzed numerous vintage maps, diagrams, and visual representations. These visuals are accompanied by descriptive text but are fascinating in their own right! The applications for educational purposes are vast, making it a valuable resource. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in trying out the AI tool or join for immediate access.
