Schaaf & Wheeler enjoyed connecting with colleagues at the Northern Nevada APWA 2026 Fall Conference. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, and to Jasmine Miller, PE, Garrett Chick, and Christopher Anderson, PE for setting up and staffing it. Congratulations to Shaker Gorla, who took home our vendor raffle prize featuring YETI gear and Schaaf & Wheeler swag!

Special thanks to the Northern Nevada APWA Chapter organizers for another outstanding conference. A highlight was keynote speaker Rebecca Calder, the first woman pilot to graduate from TOPGUN, who shared an inspiring message about the HERO Mindset.

Schaaf & Wheeler's Santa Rosa office participated in a Downtown Underground Tour as part of the City of Santa Rosa's Creek Week, which included walking through the large box culverts that extend under the City and below several buildings. Looks perfectly spooky!

Congratulations to the Schaaf & Wheeler team for winning the ACEC 2026 Marin County Wastewater Project of the Year for their work on the Paradise Pump Station.

This rehabilitation project involved replacing five total pumps, valves, piping, VFDs, lighting, ventilation, wetwell coating, drywell floor coating, PLC/programming, adding a bypass connection, and addressing conduit separation due to settlement.

• siting
• and implementation strategies

Drawing on 15+ years of experience, Caitlin will share lessons learned from real projects; highlighting common challenges, tradeoffs, and approaches that lead to successful long term outcomes.

Schaaf & Wheeler President Chuck Anderson and Vice President Dan Schaaf were recently judges for the water treatment competition at the Mid-Pacific ASCE Student Symposium hosted by San José State University. They enjoyed seeing school spirit at the engineering level, and they witnessed many enthusiastic chants of FLOC-CU-LATION throughout the event. The future is bright!
