DeWitte joins leaders from across the industry to help inform how the United States approaches emerging technologies and the infrastructure needed to support them.

As energy demand grows and the U.S. works to strengthen domestic supply chains, decisions about deploying reliable, affordable power are becoming more immediate. Nuclear energy will play a critical role in delivering clean, abundant energy while reducing reliance on foreign sources. Oklo has received its first U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission license.

Through our subsidiary Atomic Alchemy, this license enables the handling, processing, and distribution of isotope materials — supporting initial commercial production in the United States.

50 million nuclear medicine procedures are performed every year. Nearly all of the isotopes that make them possible come from aging reactors outside the United States — many expected to retire within the decade.

And nuclear medicine is just one of many applications for these critical materials.

Demand is rising. Supply is shrinking. The consequences of a shortage are serious: delayed cancer treatments, constrained research, and bottlenecks in industries that rely on nuclear technologies.

Oklo is working to change that.

NEWS: Oklo and Centrus Energy Corp. — neighbors in southern Ohio — are exploring advanced nuclear fuel production together.

The potential joint venture would co-locate HALEU enrichment, deconversion, and power generation.

Why does this matter?

Today, key steps in the fuel cycle are often spread across multiple facilities — adding transportation complexity, cost, and time.

Bringing enrichment, deconversion, and power generation together can streamline operations, reduce logistics risk, and strengthen domestic fuel-cycle capacity.

Scaling advanced nuclear requires more than reactors — it requires integrated fuel infrastructure.

This exploration is one step toward building it.

What does responsible energy growth look like in an era of soaring electricity demand?

In a new op-ed in the Pike County News Watchman, Oklo Chief of Staff John Hanson outlines how our clean energy campus in Pike County is designed with a simple principle in mind: new demand must be matched with new supply.

Our approach adds firm generation to the regional grid while aligning infrastructure investment with customer demand. Phased deployment of Aurora powerhouses allows construction, workforce growth, and grid integration to proceed in a deliberate, incremental way.

We intend to own and operate this campus for decades, creating thousands of good-paying jobs and partnering with the community as we build for the long-term.
