As we approach initial criticality, our engineers and operators will take you inside our Groves Isotope Test Reactor as they conduct the startup tests.

Our team has loaded the initial core, tested the control rods and protection systems, and brought purified water into the core under tight chemistry control. These steps are a deliberate “preflight check” that builds confidence that the reactor and its systems are behaving as expected.

These startup tests do more than demonstrate our developing blueprint for future commercial deployments–they show that American nuclear can move from design to startup on timelines that are measured in months rather than years.

GREEN LIGHT FOR STARTUP: U.S. Department of Energy has authorized Oklo’s Groves Isotope Test Reactor to receive nuclear fuel and begin startup activities.

This startup authorization clears the facility and team to load fuel, run startup tests, and proceed toward first criticality under its startup plan.

For Oklo, this is more than a reactor milestone. It is an organizational readiness milestone.

In just over 10 months, Groves completed engineering, construction, commissioning, development of operating programs, personnel training, and DOE readiness across all core requirements. Oklo chose the harder path to build a repeatable deployment model on private land using commercially procured fuel and equipment so future Aurora powerhouses, isotope facilities, and fuel cycle projects can build on proven deployment capabilities instead of starting from scratch.

Lessons from Groves are already informing how we build our other capabilities, demonstrating how advanced nuclear can move faster under DOE’s Reactor Pilot Program while keeping safety front and center.

We were proud to welcome U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Chris Wright to Idaho National Laboratory, where our first commercial Aurora powerhouse is advancing from planning to building.

At INL, we are progressing on multiple fronts. Construction, fuel, licensing, and engineering are advancing in parallel, compressing timelines and demonstrating a pace of ex*****on that few believed was possible just a few years ago.

Together with the strides we're making toward criticality at our Groves Isotope Test Reactor in Texas, this work is bigger than individual milestones. It is Oklo building full civil nuclear facilities, and demonstrating the capabilities required to build, fuel, license, and deploy advanced nuclear in the United States.

We're grateful for Secretary Wright's leadership and the continued partnership of DOE and INL as we work together to turn advanced nuclear from ambition into deployment.

Two sites. Two reactors. One integrated nuclear platform.

At Idaho National Laboratory, construction is advancing on Oklo’s first commercial Aurora powerhouse, bringing clean, reliable power closer to deployment. Our team and Kiewit Corporation have removed more than 65,000 cubic yards of material to prepare the reactor foundation, roughly enough to fill 20 Olympic swimming pools.

In Texas, our Groves isotope test reactor is approaching criticality, a key step toward unlocking future production of critical materials used in medicine, industry, and space applications. Built in less than a year, Groves is helping Oklo develop the real-world experience, supply chains, workforce capabilities, and operational know-how needed to make advanced nuclear deployment faster, more repeatable, and more scalable.

Together, these projects reflect how Oklo is executing across power, fuel, and isotopes simultaneously.

Oklo’s vertical integration sets us apart. We build, own, and operate our facilities across our three business lines of power, fuel, and isotopes.

Today, we're deepening that integration with the acquisition of ARMEC, bringing more than two decades of operating experience and a team of approximately 40 engineers, fabricators, machinists, welders, and technical personnel with extensive nuclear experience directly into our reactor and fuel-manufacturing programs.
