It’s our THIRD week of summer camp season! Seven more to go ☀️. It’s been joyous summer fun and STEMtastic learning experiences so far!   Here’s what we have covered so far!
🚀Early STEM for K-1st - intro to tools, simple machines, and building!
🚀Junior STEM for 1st - 3rd - Space Bots, Animal Bots, and Coding with Dash!

That’s a wrap on weekly classes for Spring 2026!! 🥹 Our Monday-Saturday weekly classes are now on pause until August 17th. Join us for summer camps from June 1 to August 7 in the meantime. ☀️ AND save your seat for Fall 2026! Registration is open with popular time slots filling up 😎

We are back at one of our local Claremont schools, Oakmont Outdoor School, reaching all of its TK-6th students! Each week, our fun, high-energy instructors meet with classrooms and run engaging sessions with take-home materials for kids! 🚀 It’s our second year at Oakmont and we are delighted to be here. Thank you to the incredible and Principal Jessica Rodriguez for all your support! ✨

Lego Battle Bots (or “Sumo Bots!”) is a classic favorite of all our 60+ TK-12 programs! It involves hand-on, FUN engagement with a low entry point and high reward. Join us for a weekly STEM class or a summer camp and take part in the BATTLE BOTS learning joy!

What does it involve?
⚙️Building with Legos - using the “EV3 Mindstorms” robotics system
⚙️Learning about robotics, including sensors, electronics, and a microcontroller
⚙️Programming bots to come to life! From lights, to visual stories, to basic turns, to obstacle avoidance, to SUMO!
⚙️Individual builds with 1:1 technology and opportunity for team-based sumo battle challenges!

And, yes, “Ducky” won this sumo battle 😅

Our Co-Founder Dr. Lavanya Jawaharlal presented her latest research at the “American Ed Research Association” this morning at the LA Convention Center! AERA is all about advancing knowledge about education, a core tenet of the STEM Center. 💕

So much of our work at STEM Center USA is centered on hands-on, accessible, engaging STEM classes within the “Migrant Education Program” (MEP). Education policy is complicated! Lavanya’s research is all about how MEP Directors balance being active policy actors, navigating compliance, equity, and local needs. This was Lavanya’s second year presenting at AERA. 🚀

We also loved seeing so many fellow students & alumni of (CGU) today! 🤩 Fun fact: both our co-founders are CGU alum!
