Mac6 Machining

Mac6 Machining Mac 6 Machining, LLC was formed in January 2000 by Joe and Mary Kathryn McWethy.

Although Mac 6 Machining was formed in 2000, our humble beginning dates back to 1989 with one manual Bridgeport mill, a single car garage, and a dream. We are still a family owned and operated business that has been built on providing our customers with a quality product at a very competitive price.

Fixture Friday!

We moved another part number over to the HMC. Previously this part took 3 operations on our VMC with heavy kellering, extensive deburr and a honing operation.

On the HMC it is now 2 operations, minimal deburr and the honing operation is eliminated as this machine is holding tolerance of .0002 with ease.

The orders we just completed would’ve previously taken 122hrs on the VCM, we completed these orders in just 60hrs on the SX4000. Sam is doing a tremendous job improving our efficiency, increasing our capacity and most importantly providing a higher quality part for our customers. Eager to see the results of the next part he is currently working on!

Takes some extra time at the end of each shift, but it’s worth it.

MAC 6 cleans out all chips and washes the machines down at the end of every shift. We may lose production time, but coming in the following work day to clean empty machines makes all the difference.

Take care of your machines and they will take care of you. This YCM NMV 106A is 11 years old and machines parts daily.

One of the unique things about Mac 6 Machining is we step outside of cutting just metal. This was a project I did for myself but it began years ago with my good friend Mike Letney. Mike is the founder of Unity Cross and I was able to do some prototype work as well as some production for his products. I made many of this design that was used in weddings. The ones used in weddings is approximately 12” tall. I have always wanted to make a larger version and I just completed this just in time for Easter. It is 36” tall and weighs 45 pounds. The cross is made out of aluminum and is polished. The wood background cross is made out of black walnut. I love doing these type of projects.

This summer MAC 6 was able to hire on Casey for a summer internship.

Casey is heading into this fall semester as a Junior at the University of Oklahoma studying to be a Mechanical Engineer. Casey wanted to utilize his free summer to get some practical hands-on experience with CNC machining. This summer he was able to learn running production aerospace parts, simple set-ups, tooling changes, reading blueprints, using measuring instruments and program adjustments at the machine control.

As the summer internship has come to a close, we look forward to hearing about his progress in studies and applying his new machining knowledge to school, the OU machinist lab and the OU FSAE Sooner Racing Team program!

All of us at MAC 6 appreciate the help this summer, Casey and wish you best this coming semester!
