🤝 meet the team 🤝

Do we have a treat for you.

One of our newest team members, Joe Bauernhuber, has a background that’s a little more eventful than most of ours.

Rather than rewrite it, we figured we’d let Joe tell it in his own words.

Joe is an award-winning designer and illustrator with more than 20 years of experience creating visual solutions across the fitness, publishing, and healthcare industries. Known for his versatility and storytelling through visual design, he has built a career combining creativity, technical skill, and industry knowledge. Since 2023, he has also expanded his work into the trades industry.

Joe has also worked in film as an extra, stand-in, and actor in productions including Chain Reaction, Public Enemies, and The Wafer King, where he also illustrated storyboards for the television series. He has written two original screenplays.

He studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Madison College, along with Fire Science, and proudly served the Poynette community for 11 years as a volunteer firefighter.

Joe lives in Sauk City with his wife Jennie, their family, and granddaughter Estelle.

We’re excited for your success, Joe!

Bringing this one back because we could all use a little fun.

Roofing day explanations: easy.
Saying them on camera in one take: impossible?

Thankfully, only one of those is our full-time job.

You might not have even had an inspection yet.
But you might still hear this: “You should file a claim.”

Sounds simple enough… until you actually have to do it.

After a storm, there’s a lot of language that gets thrown around quickly. That's usually one of the first things people mention.

We’re breaking down the insurance terms homeowners hear all the time, but don’t always get explained. Starting with: claim.

Even if you’ve been through a claim before, insurance can get complicated.

We’re the roofing people, but insurance is part of the process.
We’re here to help you navigate the claim from inspection through adjustment.

It’s shaping up to be a busy roofing season.
We’re going to need more hands on deck.

Our Project Managers are the ones keeping things running smoothly. They set up the job site, stay in close communication with the team, and make sure everything is clean and wrapped up at the end of the day.

It’s a hands-on role that keeps everything moving.

We’re looking forward to a busy (and rewarding) season.

Tuesday’s storm moved through in pockets across the Madison area. Some neighborhoods took a direct hit, while others were largely untouched.

We’ve been seeing signs of damage in:
Middleton, Verona, Cross Plains, North Madison & Maple Bluff, East Madison, Sun Prairie, and Cottage Grove.

A lot of what we’re finding isn’t dramatic at first glance. But when shingles lose granules or the fiberglass mat beneath them is fractured, it can allow moisture to work its way in.

That’s one of the reasons storm damage is often covered (fully or partially) by insurance policies. It’s meant to help prevent more serious issues down the road.

If you’re in one of these areas, it may be worth having things checked out so you know what your roof is working with moving forward.

The storms this week have been a lot, and there may be more coming. If you’re wondering what to do next, you’re not alone.

Our owner, AJ, put together these next steps based on what our team is seeing across the area. We’re already out inspecting roofs and helping homeowners understand what to do next.

The best place to start is with a professional inspection. Not all storm damage is visible, and not every situation calls for an insurance claim.

We document what we find, explain what it means, and help you understand your options. If there’s damage, we’ll guide you through the process and advocate for proper coverage. If there’s not, you’ll have peace of mind moving forward.

We’re here when you need us.

A roof inspection really isn’t complete without going into the attic.

We get this question a lot: “Do you really need to go up there?”
It’s usually in a closet, a little messy, and not exactly a place people want to hang out. We get it.

But the attic helps us understand what’s going on with your roof.

If ventilation or the structure underneath isn’t working, new shingles won’t fix the problem. And if you’re investing in a new roof, it should actually fix the problem.

This post walks through a few things we look for and why.

If you’re curious about what’s going on with your roof but hate heights and creepy attics? We’ve got you covered. 🫶

Could it possibly, finally be time?

March was more lion than lamb, and we’ve certainly seen some April showers…

But CHEERS to the views and sounds of ROOFING SEASON.

Tear-off is my favorite. Love this clip from Rho's Butter Video Content Creation. 👏
