Chad Wellsted and I were fortunate to be able to attend the Princeton Career Fair. This was for the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. These students brought a lot of interest and great questions regarding machining. Its nice to see so much interest in this field from the up and coming work force.

Chad Wellsted (1st shift Supervisor- Sauk Rapids) and Marilyne Morisette (Administrative Manager - Osakis) we able to meet with many freshman for their Career Exploration Event on January 25th in Alexandria. They were able to tell them all about Talon and what we do here.

On Thursday Jan 4, Talon was fortunate to have Tom Emmer, a member of the U.S. House of Reprensentatives, from the Minnesota's 6th Congresional District, come and visit our Sauk Rapids facility. Greg Olson, our CEO, was able to give Tom Emmer a tour and have a visit with him.

OCTOBER is Minnesota Manufacturing Month! Manufacturing is the second largest industry in Central Minnesota, behind health care and social assistance. With 41,298 jobs at 1,156 firms, manufacturing accounts for 15.3% of all employment in the region. From 2011 to 2016, manufacturers in Central Minnesota added 4,500 new jobs, a strong 12.2% increase.
