We're in the thick of hurricane season, and one thing people forget to prep is their outside AC unit.

Before a storm: clear any loose debris/mulch near the unit, and if you can, secure or store loose patio furniture that could become a projectile near it. After any storm, give it a quick visual check for debris in the fan before turning the system back on. Small habit, saves a service call!

Quick reminder for anyone who hasn't checked lately: if your AC has been running non-stop this summer, your filter is probably overdue. A clogged filter makes your system work harder (and your bill higher), and it's a 2-minute fix. Standard size is usually printed right on the filter frame if you're not sure what to buy. Cheap insurance for an expensive system!
