Oregon Aero designs and manufactures products for aviation, law enforcement, the military and other industries that prevent and eliminate pain, improve impact protection and reduce noise. began in 1989 because of a headache — a headache that Jude Dennis (Vice President) experienced whenever she flew with husband, Mike Dennis (founder, president and CEO). After a great deal of research, thinking, a

nd experimentation, he created the SoftTop® Headset Cushion from leather and sheepskin wool. Jude's headaches disappeared, and Mike and Jude began selling the cushions at local fly-ins. Customer feedback was positive, and Mike continued to improve the SoftTop® Headset Cushion and add custom designs for various headset models. Dozens of Headset Cushions were piled high on the kitchen table as they were sewn by hand; bolts of leather and other materials filled the garage. From this beginning grew a company which today is the leader in engineering and manufacturing advanced, crashworthy seating systems for aviation and other industries. The company also offers a broad range of additional products and holds dozens of patents. Even so, the focus remains on the same issues addressed in 1989 with the SoftTop® Headset Cushion — making the interface between the human body and manufactured hardware pain-free, safer and quieter. The majority of our products were developed because someone asked if we could "fix it". Just tell us where it hurts!

At Oregon Aero, we believe community reaches far beyond our own backyard. Right now, families, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters in Ukraine are living through unimaginable hardship, and many soldiers are risking everything each day to protect the people they love.

We are honored to partner with United Help Ukraine to provide life-saving helmet pad kits to soldiers on the front lines. Our pad kits are designed to help protect the brain from impact-related injury while also being comfortable enough for extended wear. While many systems can absorb shock, few are truly comfortable…often leading soldiers to remove their helmets as often as possible. A helmet that isn’t worn cannot provide protection.

We’re asking our community to join us in helping. For every helmet pad kit donated, Oregon Aero will match it with another kit to send to Ukraine.

On this last day of 2025 we would like to express our deepest gratitude for all of our customers new and old. You are the reason we are here! Nothing makes us happier than to know we helped someone's flight be a little more comfortable or pleasant. Whether its an aching back after a long flight, or that hot spot in your helmet. Maybe you are working hard all day and need the extra shock absorption in your shoes, or have a hard time hearing communications and need the hush kit to tone it down for you. Whatever it may be, we are here to support you! The pilots...military and civilian.

Oregon Aero will be CLOSED tomorrow so we can celebrate the New Year with our friends and family, but will return Friday to do what we do best.... be of service to all of you!
