The load, temperature, geometry, boundary conditions, and measurement location all determine what that number means. Change any one of them, and the same cycle count can represent a very different test.

Credible data does more than provide a number. It preserves the context needed to interpret it correctly.

We keep seeing it with composites. Built to drawing, fiber orientation correct, and the specimen still responds in a way nobody predicted.

The load path and the fiber architecture had a conversation the model wasn't part of. That's not a manufacturing issue, that's a material response issue, and it only shows up when the test runs. Designed right and tested right aren't always the same thing.
