Vrba Construction primarily performs work installing underground utilities. We require experienced applicants but are always looking for employees eager to expand their skill set. Will provide competitive wages dependent on experience. Vrba Construction is seeking a full-time qualified Pipe Laborer to install sanitary, storm, & water piping on civil and private projects. Vrba Construction is a growing, family owned, business seeking to add valued members to our team.
Responsibilities:
Assist Project Superintendent and Operators
Understanding blueprints
Performing skilled manual labor; laying pipe in various sizes and configurations
Making Tie-ins to structures
Applying Cement, mortar, tar or paint
Sealing cracks (sometimes from within the underground pipe)
Clear around pipe to make repairs
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment of pipe
Work outside in various weather conditions
Carry and handle materials, must be able to lift 50 pounds
Requirements:
Dependable and willing to report to work on time
Able to work independently and with a team
Willingness to work overtime when required
Verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to participate in job related training and development courses
Valid driver’s license
Own transportation to various work sites
Ability to pass a background check and random drug test
Minimum of one year of experience working on a pipe crew required.
Basic knowledge of laying pipe and figuring grade required.
Able to get 10 or 30 OSHA Certification (company provided)
Confined Space Certification (company provided)
Able to read stakes, set-up lasers, and understand percent of slope
Function in trench boxes up to twenty five (25) vertical feet
