Alberene Soapstone

Alberene Soapstone Alberene is the only surviving supplier of American soapstone.

Even companies such as Vermont Soapstone and Green Mountain, commonly thought to provide American stone, must import their products from Brazil. Alberene Soapstone was originally quarried in 1888 after large deposits of soapstone were discovered in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Alberene Soapstone is:
Non-pourous and antibacterial
Resitant to stains, heat and spalling - unlike g

ranite or marble
A natural heat conductor - perfect for bathroom floors and firelplace surrounds
Hassle-free - no special treatment or cleaning care is needed
