Engineering: facility design, waste management system design, construction management, dam and water control structure design, dam inspection and breach inundation mapping, floodplain modeling and evaluation

Agronomy: Nutrient Management Plans, Land Application Plans for industrial facilities, variable

rate irrigation design and installation, soil and waste sampling, manure and mortality composting

Compliance: records review, annual on-site assessments, permit renewals, manure marketing, web-based record-keeping guidance and tools, irrigation and stockwater use reports. Other: whole pond seepage testing, water right development, environmental facility assessments

Alumni spotlight! Michelle Busch-Hilburn graduated K-State in December 2013 and works for KLA Environmental Services, Inc. in Scott City, Kansas. Her job is to help landowners with land application of wastes, mainly wastewater and solid manure from confined animal feeding operations. She does agronomic soil sampling, waste sampling, and creates nutrient management plans.

KLA Environmental Services is currently looking for an experienced Office Administrator at our Scott City, Kansas office location. This position will play an integral role in the customer service and organizational strength of our company. The Office Administrator will provide administrative support, greet and direct visitors, and answer and respond to calls and emails. Qualified candidates will have impeccable verbal and written communication skills, a strong ability to multi-task and a friendly demeanor.
