Not every solar deal qualifies for the tax credit. Here's exactly what does.

✅ You own the system → you claim the 30% ITC
❌ You lease the system → the leasing company claims it, not you

✅ Placed in service before Dec 31, 2032 → qualifies
❌ Still under construction past that date → doesn't qualify for that tax year

✅ Cash purchase, bank loan, most PPAs → ITC eligible
❌ Some lease structures and certain tax-exempt entities → different rules apply

The ownership structure of your deal determines whether you actually get the credit — or whether someone else does.

This is exactly why the financing conversation matters before you sign anything.

DM us to make sure your deal is structured to qualify.

If your energy bill were an employee, you would have fired them years ago.

Think about it:

They're the most expensive person on your payroll.
They show up every month demanding more money.
They've never once improved their performance.
They give you zero say in their annual raise.
And when the power goes out? They blame someone else.

No business owner would tolerate that from a person.
So why are you tolerating it from your utility?

Solar replaces your energy bill with something that actually works — locked-in costs, 25 years of consistent output, and a 30% federal tax credit to make the hire.

Time to make the switch.

The #1 reason businesses delay going solar is upfront cost.

Here's why that excuse doesn't hold up anymore.

There are four ways US businesses finance commercial solar — and two of them require zero dollars on day one:

→ C-PACE Financing — No upfront cost. Repaid through your property tax assessment over time.
→ Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) — You buy the power, not the panels. Pay per kWh at a rate lower than your utility charges today.
→ Bank or SBA Loan — Own the system, claim the full 30% ITC, and spread payments over long low-interest terms.
→ Cash Purchase — Maximum ROI. Full ITC plus bonus depreciation. Best for businesses ready to deploy capital.

Every structure has a different ROI profile. We help you find the one that fits your balance sheet.

What if one decision protected your margins for the next 25 years?

You can't control rent.
You can't control payroll.
You can't control raw material costs.

But your energy bill? That one's yours to own.

Solar locks in your energy cost for 25+ years. No rate hikes. No demand charge surprises. No annual increases from a utility company that answers to no one.

While your competitors keep absorbing rising utility costs, you're running on locked-in, lower-cost power.

That's not just savings. That's a competitive edge.

We've heard every solar myth. Here's the data that shuts them all down.

❌ "It's too expensive."
✅ 30% ITC + financing = little to no upfront cost. Payback in 4–7 years. Savings for 25.

❌ "It only works in sunny states."
✅ Germany — cloudier than every US state — is one of the world's top solar producers. Your zip code is not an excuse.

❌ "The payback period is too long."
✅ 4–7 years to break even. Then 18+ years of near-free energy. Name another investment with that runway.

Still have doubts? Drop them in the comments. We'll debunk those too. 👇

Smart executives don't ask "can we afford solar?"

They ask "what is it costing us not to have it?"

Every month without solar is a month you're paying full commercial utility rates — rates that have climbed over 50% in the last decade and show no sign of stopping.

Solar isn't a capital expense. It's a reallocation. You move money from an operating cost that grows every year to a depreciating asset that generates returns for 25.

The 30% federal ITC means the government funds nearly a third of it.
Bonus depreciation means your accountant will call it a good year.
And a well-structured PPA means you may not need to write a check at all.

The question isn't whether solar makes financial sense.
It already does.

The question is who's going to act on it first — you, or your competitor.

Your meter can literally run backwards.
That's net metering — and it's one of the most powerful financial benefits of going solar.

Here's how it works:
→ Your solar system generates power during the day
→ Excess energy flows back to the grid
→ Your utility credits you for every kWh you send
→ Those credits offset your bill at night or on cloudy days

Over 40 US states have net metering policies. In most, you're credited at full retail rate — meaning the energy you send is worth the same as the energy you buy.

Less you owe. Every single month.

The clock is ticking on the biggest solar incentive in US history.

To claim the 30% federal Investment Tax Credit on your 2026 taxes, your solar system must be fully placed in service by December 31, 2026.

That sounds like plenty of time. It isn't.

A commercial solar project — from signed contract to commissioned system — typically takes 6 to 9 months. Permitting, utility interconnection, and construction all take time, and none of it waits for anyone.

Businesses that start in June finish in time.
Businesses that start in September are gambling.

If your CPA has been telling you to look at solar this year, this is the moment to make that call.

Sunday question for the business owners in the room:

What would you do with 60–80% lower energy costs?

Hire faster? Reinvest in equipment? Expand to a new location? Protect your margins through the next economic cycle?

That's not a hypothetical. That's what solar delivers for businesses that make the move.

This week we're back with more — net metering, financing options, and why the ITC deadline is real. See you Monday.

Happy Saturday ⚡

Fun fact: the US installs enough solar every hour to power 4,000 homes. The commercial sector is leading that charge — and the businesses driving it aren't doing it out of goodwill. They're doing it because the ROI is undeniable.

This week we covered the 30% ITC, rate hikes, and why the Dec 31 deadline matters more than most owners realize.

Catch up on our feed if you missed it — and enjoy the weekend. The sun's working even when you aren't.
