Here is a perfectly good example of why regulations must be followed at all times. Even violating them for a few seconds can cost a person their career, and worst case scenario, could have cost hundreds of people their lives! Follow the regulations as you are supposed to.

Crewmembers come in all shapes, sizes, colors, religions. No one should be mocked for their appearance, and clearly some airlines will not tolerate their employees mocking other airline employees. Is firing always needed? Not necessarily, but people should be kept in check with their mouths and fingers. Whether it comes out of your mouth or through a keyboard, you own your words, spoken or typed. People forget social media is an extension of who you are, voiced over the internet. You cannot speak with impunity; while you are free to speak and say what you want, you are not free from consequence of those words. Keep this in mind with every day living.

Aircraft can withstand significant forces when landing. However, like everything, there are limits before something gives. In this instance, this appears to be one excessively hard landing too many.

Today a very serious incident happened on board a Southwest Airlines flight, an uncontained engine failure. One fatality, sorry to say. Speculation as to what exactly went wrong would be pointless and likely in error. Lets wait for the factual reports, and whatever you do, don't get sucked into the hype of news media. A tragedy occurred with the loss of life, the woman almost sucked out of the plane, and certain news media outlets will sensationalize this.

...and this is why it's so important to comply with hazardous materials regulations, ESPECIALLY when it comes to power banks. Thankfully this happened on the ground. Had it been in the air, and fire extinguishers used, it's possible a diversion may have been necessary when assessing the risk of a second fire on board and the aircraft continuing with a reduced number of available fire extinguishers. It will be interesting to learn what the rating of the power bank was, if it had been damaged, was it a well-known brand or a cheap knock-off. We must wait for the investigative report to come out.
