Two vessels. One busy shipyard season.

Our latest Shipyard Report takes you behind the scenes of the recent upgrades, inspections, and maintenance completed on both the F/V Frontier Explorer and F/V Frontier Spirit as they prepare for another season in the Bering Sea.

From drydock work and safety inspections to major equipment and system upgrades, it’s a look at the work that happens long before the season begins.

All of us at Bristol Wave Seafoods HQ want to thank our officers and crew members for an incredibly successful 2025. Everything we accomplish as a company starts with the hard work and determination of our vessel employees, whether they’re in the wheelhouse, in the engine room, on the deck, or in the factory. We’re looking forward to another great year in 2026!

Safety in Action, on and off the boat.

On October 28th, 2025, F/V Clipper Surprise Mate Brett Wescott was traveling home after a 3 and half month rotation in the Bering Sea when a critical medical emergency occurred, just as his flight was landing in Portland, Oregon.

When the flight crew called out for a doctor, medic, or anyone with CPR training, Brett stepped up.

He administered CPR and even used the onboard defibrillator, staying with the passenger and administering aid until emergency medics arrived to take over.

We’re incredibly proud to have people like Brett as part of the Bristol Wave family.

Processors handle the catch after it comes aboard - cleaning, filleting, packaging, and freezing each fish with precision. Their attention to detail directly impacts product quality and freshness.

It’s fast-paced, physically demanding work that requires teamwork and focus.

From the deck to the freezer hold, processors ensure every Bristol Wave product meets the standards our name stands for.

Entry-level crew members, or “Greenhorns,” are essential to fishing operations.

They support nearly every task on board - sorting and cleaning fish, assisting with packaging, and leaning to handle lines on the deck.

It’s where every fishing career begins, offering hands-on experience and exposure to all areas of vessel life.

Our processors, deckhands, engineers, and even captains all started in this position, learning the rhythm of the work and what it takes to keep a vessel running smoothly.
