The Terrapin Apartments are complete in downtown Bellevue!

This new eight-story community brings 172 studio, one- and two-bedroom homes to the neighborhood, helping broaden access to housing close to jobs, transit, and opportunity. Most units will be reserved for residents earning between 50% and 80% of area median income.

Built on a tight downtown site, The Terrapin makes smart use of space with 93 parking stalls, including 89 provided through car stackers. It’s an efficient solution that helps balance parking access with the larger goal of creating much-needed homes near Bellevue’s employment centers, transit, and amenities.

Congratulations to the full project team and thank you to the partners who helped make The Terrapin possible, including Amazon.com, the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, ARCH - A Regional Coalition for Housing, and the City of Bellevue, Washington - Government, and community leaders supporting housing access in Bellevue.

This , we’re recognizing that safety is bigger than PPE, planning, and what happens physically on a jobsite.

At W.G. Clark, safety also means paying attention to stress, fatigue, and mental health. In construction, the work is demanding, the schedules are tight, and the pressure can follow people home. Supporting our teams means creating a culture where people are encouraged to speak up, check in, and look out for one another.

This year’s Construction Safety Week theme is “All In Together,” with a focus on Recognize, Respond, and Respect. That applies to physical hazards, and it applies to the people doing the work.

A simple check-in can make a difference:

Am I sleeping?
Am I more irritable than usual?
Am I withdrawing from people?
Am I relying more on alcohol or substances to get through the week?
Am I feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or unlike myself?
Have I checked in on someone who seems off?

Safety starts with recognizing when something needs attention, responding with care, and respecting that every person on our jobsites and in our office matters.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 for immediate support.

This National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to spotlight Sheldon Grant.

Sheldon grew up in Tacoma. He spent a year at WSU, worked as a longshoreman at the Port of Tacoma, and later held roles with the Mariners and Alaska Airlines. Over time, he realized he wanted something different—a career that would get him outside, working with his hands. That decision led him to construction.

Sheldon, 40, enrolled in CITC and is now one year into a four-year apprenticeship program, working on-site with the W.G. Clark team at New Hope Family Housing. His story is a good reminder that there’s no single path into the trades, and no deadline for finding work that feels right.

“I came to construction a little later than some people, but apprenticeship has been a great experience. It’s never too late to discover what you’re passionate about.”

W.G. Clark is proud to partner with the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington (CITC) and ANEW to help support the next generation of carpenters.

“'Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn,'” quoted W.G. Clark Principal Jason Preuit, who began his career in the field before moving into construction management and now serves on the CITC Board. “Apprenticeship provides the opportunity to be employed while concurrently developing the knowledge and skill necessary for growth in a successful career. As an employer and advocate of training, there is nothing more rewarding than someone achieving their dreams of knowledge, success and pride achieved through the building blocks of apprenticeship.”

From CITC’s 11 state-approved apprenticeship programs and earn-while-you-learn model to ANEW’s 280-hour pre-apprenticeship programs and long-standing work expanding access for women entering the trades, these partnerships help create real opportunity and lasting careers in construction.

Thank you, Construction Industry Training Council of WA and ANEW for the work you do every day.

What a difference a day makes.

Yesterday’s Level 4 post-tensioned concrete pour at Overlake Mixed-Use gave us a pretty satisfying before-and-after moment. Congratulations to the project team on another milestone in the books!

We're proud to recognize Dagoberto Perez, recently named a Donald L. Clark Award recipient!

Chosen through employee input and leadership review, this internal award recognizes field employees who demonstrate exceptional skill, safety awareness, teamwork, initiative, and commitment to quality.

“Dagoberto is an outstanding coworker—skilled, reliable, and always ready for a challenge. His dedication and positive attitude shine from the moment you meet him. I always look forward to working on a project with him,” said Mario Rosas, who often works closely with Dagoberto on-site.

Congratulations, Dagoberto, and thank you for all you bring to the field team.

W.G. Clark will begin restoration work this week at the Fife You Store It storage facility in Fife.

Following an October 31, 2024, fire that caused significant damage to part of the property, this project represents an important step in moving the facility forward. Fife You Store It has served the community for decades, and we’re proud to play a role in its restoration.

Work will continue over the next several months, and we look forward to helping bring the facility back into operation.

The North End Lofts in Boise, Idaho, are slated for completion this week—congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this new community to the finish line!

Located at the corner of 16th and State, the North End Lofts bring a mix of market-rate and affordable housing to one of Boise’s most connected neighborhoods. We’re grateful to our partners, proud of our field team for the work they put in with a lean crew, and thankful to the Boise business community for the warm welcome and support along the way.
