This past weekend, Säzän Group joined forces with incredible partners for Canstruction AIA Phoenix Metro 2026, and we are excited to share what we built together.

Our team’s entry, "Otterly Generous: Holding Our Community Together, One Can at a Time,” includes 4,391 cans stacked into a structure that celebrates what's possible when a community shows up for each other. Otters are known for holding hands while they sleep, so they won't drift apart. That spirit of connection and teamwork inspired the concept.

Every can will be donated to St. Mary's Food Bank to help fight hunger right here in our Phoenix community.

Huge thanks to our amazing team — it was a privilege to build alongside you all:
Buehler
Curio, Betsy Maddox
Dibble
Mortenson
Shepley Bulfinch

Together, we are Otterly Generous.

Congratulations to Kayla Edwards on her promotion to Director of Operations for our Oregon team!

As a licensed Professional Engineer, a Certified Commissioning Professional, and Certified Energy Auditor, Kayla brings rare technical depth to everything she touches, from commissioning and energy audits to design reviews and facility condition assessments.

She joined Säzän Group in 2022 and has been driving quality and results for our clients ever since. In her new role, Kayla will lead Oregon operations, strengthen team processes, and help write the next chapter of Säzän Group's growth in the Pacific Northwest.

This is well-earned. We're excited for what's ahead!

A decade of community vision. One building brought back to life.

Skyway is an unincorporated area in King County, Washington, that has seen a negative impact from a historic lack of investment. The Skyway Resource Center is a community-owned and operated hub for those seeking access to support services and better opportunities for neighborhood engagement.

The transformation of a vacant two-story bank wasn't just a renovation project—it was a collaboration between local residents, government agencies, and elected officials to meet the needs of the community. Planning started in 2014, and after years of advocacy and design work, Skyway now has a dedicated space for people who seek resources to thrive.

Working as part of Schemata Workshop's design team, Säzän Group provided MEP, ICT, and lighting design. Our PV-ready electrical system sets the building up for a future solar array installation. Skyway Resource Center is now home to seven organizations that address services ranging from mental health wellness to food insecurity to public health.
