We had a great time at the 2026 WAMOA Fall Conference in Yakima last week, connecting with K-12 facilities and operations professionals from across Washington, exchanging ideas, and discussing the challenges and opportunities shaping school facilities today.

Our team was honored to contribute to the conference through two presentations: Fine-Tuning the Engine: Using FCA Data to Fuel Maintenance Decisions, where Project Manager Samantha Wong shared strategies for turning FCA data into actionable maintenance planning, and From Bond to Building: Navigating OSPI School Construction Funding, featuring Managing Principal Joel Davis on a panel discussing bond planning, district needs, and state funding.

We were also proud to support the conference as a sponsor and enjoyed engaging with attendees both during and outside of the conference sessions, including a great day on the golf course.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day honors the cultures and histories of the Native American people. They created vivid and diverse cultures around safeguarding land, language, spirit, knowledge, and tradition across generations. Today is about reflection, recognition, celebration, and education on the importance of the role Indigenous Peoples have played in our history.

We acknowledge our offices are on the lands and territories of Indigenous peoples, ancestral homelands of those American Indian tribes that have inhabited and stewarded these lands since time immemorial. The Arizona offices are located on Tohono O'odham, the Pascua Yaqui, Hohokam, and the P*e Posh peoples’ lands. The Washington office is located on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish, Suquamish, Muckleshoot, and Tulalip people and within the broader Coast Salish territory. Portland’s urban Native community is descended from more than 380 tribes, and there are nine sovereign Native American nations located throughout Oregon. In Bend, Oregon, we are on the traditional territory of the Northern Paiute, the Wasco, and the Warm Springs tribes, which now comprise the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.

Congratulations to Scott Esher on his promotion to Managing Principal of Operations!

Over the past four years, Scott has been the kind of leader who doesn't just identify what needs improvement; he builds the systems to make it happen. Since joining Säzän Group, Scott has worn many hats and, in every role, he's been consistent in providing clarity, structure, and a relentless focus on making sure our decisions are backed by data. He has also helped develop and implement planning and forecasting tools that give leadership greater visibility into both project and company performance.

In his expanded role as Managing Principal of Operations, Scott oversees company financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and the operational systems that support teams across the firm. He leads our Accounting, Human Resources, and IT teams, and serves as the firm's Deltek Vantagepoint System Administrator, driving system enhancements, dashboard development, and CRM implementation. His vision, analytical thinking, and ability to build and lead high-performing teams will be central to how we continue growing.

Project Spotlight: Clark County Behavioral Health and Treatment Center, Brockmann Campus

Säzän Group provided electrical, lighting, fire alarm, ICT, emergency power, and renewable energy design on BCRA’s team for this $42M behavioral health campus in Vancouver, WA. The project consists of three new 16-bed treatment buildings surrounding an existing inpatient behavioral health center, all designed to support recovery, safety, and long-term resiliency.

Students at Valley View Elementary in Toppen*sh flipped a very big switch—and officially turned on a 128-kW solar array and battery storage system that will power their school and serve as a community resilience hub for years to come.

Säzän Group was proud to serve as Owner's Representative on this $1.7M clean energy project, funded through Washington's Community Decarbonization Grant. From engineering oversight to commissioning support, our team was there every step of the way, including the confetti.

Congratulations to Lucas Landreth on his promotion to Director of Operations for our Arizona offices!

Lucas has been part of Säzän Group’s Arizona team since it was established in 2018. Since joining the firm, he has helped shape the business and build on our culture that puts people first, making it a place people love to show up to every day. In his new role, he'll lead office operations, deepen client relationships, and drive the next chapter of growth for our Arizona presence.

With 20+ years of mechanical engineering experience, Lucas brings serious technical expertise depth across multiple project types—from complex HVAC systems and process piping renovations to new building design.

Lucas leads with integrity, approachability, and a team-first mentality. We can't wait to see where he takes the Arizona team next.
