That’s a wrap on round two! Friday’s 47 miles from Mokane to Marthasville rolled through Missouri w**e country and small-town stops along the old rail line.

Saturday brought 39 wooded miles into historic St. Charles, and a few riders kept going to Machens, the eastern terminus, to ride every inch of the KATY from Clinton. Clinton to Machens, end to end. Until next time, KATY!

Wednesday, we rolled 50+ miles from Sedalia to Rocheport under perfect fall skies, crossing the Missouri River at Boonville and riding through the Rocheport Tunnel before settling into our BnBs.

Thursday brought 53 more miles of river bluffs along Lewis and Clark’s route, then a shuttle to Hermann for live music under the string lights. Sunshine, river miles, and a little ripple in the evening’s plans. ✌️🌊🎶

Round two on the KATY is underway! Monday, we met in historic St. Charles and kicked off with a scenic ride on Amtrak's Missouri River Runner to Sedalia, a relaxing preview of Missouri before hitting the trail. That evening: rider orientation and dinner to get ready for the week.

After a morning shuttle to Clinton on Tuesday, we rode 38+ miles back to Sedalia, crossing the KATY Trail's highest point before a delicious group dinner at a BPP favorite, Kehde's BBQ!

Fueled up and ready to ride!

Back on the KATY! A new group of riders hits Missouri's 240-mile rail-trail October 5 - 10, with river bluffs, small towns, and w**e country all along the way. Gravel under the tires, history around every bend, and great company all week. Round two, let's roll!

On Saturday, our final riding day took us from Brunswick into Washington, D.C. We had no shortage of American history along the way. We enjoyed Great Falls, one of the true highlights of the entire C&O. The ride into Georgetown was loaded with historic locations. We happily celebrated upon reaching Mile 0, then went on to see the sights on the National Mall, including the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. Great job to all of our riders who completed this amazing journey from Pittsburgh to D.C.!

On Thursday we had the truly unique experience of riding through the impressive and historical Paw Paw Tunnel, a signature section of the C&O. After a fun SAG at Bill's Place, later in the day the route offered smoother riding on the paved Western Maryland Rail Trail, which runs along the C&O almost all the way to Fort Frederick State Park.

Friday took us from Fort Frederick past Harpers Ferry, WV into Brunswick, MD, where we capped off the day with a Friday night dinner in historical Frederick, MD. One more day of riding to go, straight into our nation's capital!

Tuesday we rode up the GAP Trail through Ohiopyle and over the Salisbury Viaduct into Meyersdale. We are so happy we added an overnight in Meyersdale to our GAPCO tour, such a cool small town! Our riders filled all the B&Bs in town and had a wonderful evening. Yoder's Guest House set the tone with a fun happy hour and home-cooked dinner courtesy of Denise and Chuck.

On Wednesday, we welcomed no more rain and clearing skies. After departing Meyersdale, we crossed the Eastern Continental Divide and rode through the Big Savage Tunnel. The GAP Trail is in great condition, and we have now transitioned to the C&O Canal Towpath for an evening in Cumberland, MD. Onward to the nation's capital!

Bike GAPCO 2026 is officially underway! On Sunday we gathered at the Courtyard by Marriott in West Homestead, right on the GAP (Great Allegheny Passage) Trail. On Monday, we enjoyed a scenic pedal from the Steel City to Connellsville, riding up the Monongahela and Youghiogheny rivers. We wrapped up Monday with a tasty dinner at The River's Edge Restaurant & Bar in Connellsville. It hasn't been dry, but a little rain makes for the best stories, and this group has already begun to bond like old friends!
