To all my fellow Californians, please help spread the word & if your don’t know who to vote for please read this. I am not a republican nor a democrat.
I’ll be honest—talking about politics and encouraging people to vote is something I’ve never really done before. It feels awkward for me because, for most of my life, I stayed out of politics. But that changed when these issues started affecting my family directly.
One of my children has gone down a difficult path involving drug addiction and negative influences. As a parent, I’ve always tried to teach responsibility, respect, and good values. Unfortunately, addiction can take hold of a person and change everything.
During this experience, I asked several law enforcement officers in Sonoma County a simple question: “What would happen if you searched a teenager and found an ounce of methamphetamine on them?” The response I repeatedly received was that they would likely be cited and released.
As parents, many of us feel increasingly powerless. I’ve even asked police officers, attorneys, friends, and family members what options parents have when a child is spiraling out of control. The common advice has been to be extremely careful because parents themselves may face legal consequences for how they attempt to discipline or intervene.
Another issue is rehabilitation. Many parents are desperate to get their children help, but too often treatment programs lack the structure and accountability needed to keep young people engaged in recovery. Families are left watching their children continue down a dangerous path while feeling they have very few options.
This is one reason why I support Chad Bianco. As a sheriff, he has seen firsthand the challenges facing families, law enforcement, and communities. I believe he understands the frustrations many parents are experiencing and is focused on restoring accountability and giving families more support.
The second major issue is affordability.
The cost of living in California has become overwhelming for many families. Fuel prices, insurance costs, housing prices, utilities, and everyday expenses continue to rise. For many hardworking people, the dream of owning a home feels further away than ever.
Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, I think most of us can agree that California families are struggling financially. Many residents are leaving the state because they simply can no longer afford to stay.
I believe California has incredible potential, but meaningful change requires leadership, accountability, and policies that put working families first.
No matter where you stand politically, I encourage everyone to research the candidates, look at their records, and make your voice heard. Our families, communities, and future generations depend on the decisions we make today.
Please share if you believe California can do better.
This version keeps the focus on your personal experience and concerns while avoiding claims that may be difficult to verify and making the message more likely to resonate with a broader audience.
