Have you all been sitting on the edge of your seats, waiting for the answer to the age old question:
Can you really be guaranteed to never have to get up on a ladder again to clean out your gutters?

Sorry, but the answer is no. There is no such system that is maintenance free. In my 25 years in the gutter business, I have been called many times to either clean or remove the very pricey systems. Some of the systems do help with gutter and downspout clogging, but there will still be maintenance getting junk out or off the various systems.

My suggestion is to avoid the overpriced systems. The system I would recommend would be one that is more cost effective and will make it easier to clean by wiping or blowing off the excess leaves and needles that may collect over a period of time.

Pictured are two systems I use that are not only less in price from the competitors you see advertised on the television, but also look more attractive from the ground and just as effective, if not more. These systems keep the smooth sleek lines of the continuous gutter rather than the cumbersome "helmet" or "guard" that sits on top of the gutter that you can see from the ground.

The picture on the left has a stainless steel mesh that works well to keep all tree debris especially pine needles and cedar boughs from entering the gutter.
