Summer heat puts commercial turf to the test. A few things that make a real difference this time of year:

- Water deeply a few times a week rather than daily,
- Keep your mow height at 3–3.5 inches to retain moisture
- Start watching for grub activity in July and August — early detection saves a lot of turf.

Questions about your property's summer health? We're happy to take a look.

Spring prep sets the tone for your entire property all season.

After a Minnesota winter, sites take on more wear than you think. Getting ahead of it now prevents bigger issues later.

Key areas to focus on:

• Full site cleanup (debris, sand, salt)

• Turf repair and early care

• Fresh mulch and clean bed edges

• Irrigation startup and inspection

• Pruning and plant health

Proactive spring work is what keeps properties looking clean and consistent all summer. If it’s still on your list, now is the time to get ahead of it. ICON is here to help!

Our biggest snow event of the year — and possibly the largest in the last several years — is on its way. Here is what you can expect as we move through the rest of the weekend:

SATURDAY
- Cloudy and dry conditions this morning will continue into the afternoon, with a high in the upper 30s.
- Snow will begin developing across the area later this afternoon and will increase in intensity through the evening, with up to 4 inches of accumulation possible by midnight.
- Very heavy snow will then continue through the overnight hours, with snowfall rates of 1–2 inches per hour likely.

SUNDAY
- Heavy snow will persist into the day tomorrow before tapering to light snow and flurries during the afternoon.
- All snow is expected to move out of the area by around 7:00 PM Sunday.

Total accumulations from this storm are expected to range from 12–18 inches, with isolated pockets potentially exceeding 20 inches.

Wind will also be a factor with this event, with gusts up to 35 mph possible at times. This will create whiteout conditions and make travel extremely dangerous, especially overnight. If you have errands or travel plans, it would be best to complete them during the day today.

March is around the corner, and those 40-degree days are your first signal that spring transition has started.

This time of year is critical for commercial properties. As snow melts, hidden issues start to surface. Turf damage, salt impact, drainage concerns, and hardscape wear often show up before full green-up.

The most successful properties use early spring to evaluate winter impact, prioritize repairs, and map out maintenance strategies before the season gets busy.

A proactive approach now sets the tone for the entire growing season.

Winter is definitely on its way! Forecasts shifted a bit overnight, pushing the track of this system farther south.

Here is what we’re expecting through today and into Wednesday morning:

Today: Cloudy with highs in the 40s and periods of fog/light rain through most of the day.
This Evening: Temperatures will drop below freezing and winds will increase. Light rain is expected to change over to all snow by around 9:00 PM.

We have a little winter weather moving into the area overnight tonight and lingering into tomorrow morning.

As we move through the overnight hours, temperatures will drop, changing the light rain over to light, on-and-off snow showers by around 3:00 AM. Light snow will then continue into the morning, tapering off and exiting the area by approximately 10:00 AM.

Current forecasts call for only minor accumulations, with a trace to around ½” common across most of the Metro Area. Some higher amounts may be found in the south metro.

The ICON Team will be out overnight and into the day tomorrow, monitoring conditions and providing services as needed.

Preparation is everything when it comes to winter safety. Our crews are already mapping plow routes, staging salt bins, and making sure every property we manage is ready for whatever the season brings. The work starts long before the first flake falls.
