Full job description
HVAC Service & Install Technician – $20 to $35/hr

Full-time | On-the-road | Southern NJ

Dewpoint Mechanical is growing — and we’re looking for a sharp,
hands-on HVAC Technician to join our residential & commercial service
team.

Whether you’re seasoned with chillers, and refrigeration systems — or coming up with strong residential install experience —
this is a chance to earn well, build your skills, and work with a
company that’s got your back.

What You’ll Be Doing
Install, service, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and chiller systems
Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues (you know the drill)
Handle regular inspections, preventive maintenance. Work with commercial clients, homeowners, and facility managers
Keep job sites clean, professional, and safe
Support apprentices or assist senior techs, depending on experience

What We’re Looking For
1+ years of HVAC experience (more = better pay)
Trade school, EPA certification, or apprenticeship track
Solid understanding of mechanical systems
Bonus points for:
Welding or fabrication skills
Any prior commercial install or maintenance work
Must have a valid driver’s license (clean record required)

A client asked me about Dewpoint and its beginnings this weekend. I thought it was worth sharing...

When my wife and I got married a million years ago, she was the one who handled any operational problems around the house. Whether it was a new thermostat or a furnace issue, she took care of it all. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I needed to step up and learn the inner workings of all mechanical at Brody HQ. This newfound understanding of how much work goes into maintaining a house led me to look at bigger systems, like industrial chillers.

I noticed that these systems were all being served in our area but not always with the quality and care I believed they deserved. Lightbulbs went off, and almost 25 years ago, I started my first HVAC company, primarily handling industrial and large commercial accounts.

Then came the flood in 2004 in Medford Lakes. Many of my friends, both childhood and adult, lost their systems, and some even lost their homes. Everyone needed new furnaces and central air systems, but the area was poorly served by my industry. We got into the residential market for our friends, initially helping out on weekends and around our larger jobs. This experience made me realize that our little section of NJ needed some old-fashioned, “we’re there for you” help.

Our residential team stayed small by design. I wanted a team built of people I could trust with my parents and grandparents. I wanted my company to be part of the fabric and families of the NJ I grew up in over 50 years ago. Dewpoint Mechanical will always be that company. No surprise bills, no technicians who don’t instill trust and confidence in my friends and family that I’ve supported over the decades. I’ve hired the best employees because they are an extension of me, doing that work for you.
