With the much anticipated fall of Freedom from the solar ranks, we can now move on to betting on the next victim of the tried and true “Screw’em for as much as we can as long as we can” solar model. I’m sitting across from a two week old install done by a company that rhymes with Infinity but named after a “Matrix” character. They’ve got 4 guys on the roof already trying to figure out what they did wrong.
It’s a race to the bottom out there.

These type of business models give our whole industry a bad name and every time I hear somebody say “scale” I know a few thousand people are gonna get screwed and make it that much harder for us to help people and keep doing it the right way. (The second red flag is seeing a Solar Edge inverter going in.) Just my own opinion. Could be wrong.

Things we won’t do because we’re a local family-run business and we like to sleep at night without being haunted by a guilty conscience:

1. Oversized your solar so that we make money at your expense.
2. Undersize your system so you’re stuck with higher electric bills.
3. Install a system on a roof that needs to be replaced.
4. Install a system that doesn’t financially benefit you.

There’s more but the algorithm says I’m supposed to post regularly, so I’ll hit it up more tomorrow regarding “Things we absolutely will do”.
