All I have to do with the cross now is touch it up a bit and add the plate.

I have a little more touch up to do on the horizontal part. I have to fill the holes and grind it flat and shine it up. The stirrups on the sides are staying tarnished. I also have to make the plate for the name, dates, and hearts.

So it's been a while since I have posted. Yes, I will continue on the progression of the eagle. That will probably pick up more in the late fall to winter months. Today, I am posting pictures of a memorial for one of my friends brothers. My friend asked me to create a memorial for his brother that he lost in a motorcycle accident. I did get approval to post progress pictures. Here is a little back story about Steven, the memorial is being made for him. Steven was a crazy kind of guy, high energy, entertaining, the life of the party, and a thrill seeker. He also had a unique job, he was a climber. He climbed the tallest of trees to cut them down for customers in the safest of ways to protect their properties. He used climbing spikes, which are used in the memorial as you will see. This is the start, but it will not be a long progression because it needs to be done by Friday for his celebration of life. We plan on incorporating chainsaw blades, his name, and two hearts representing his two beautiful daughters that he loved so much. There will be some alterations to the original of what we were brainstorming, but it will be special. Here is the start. I am hoping it will be mostly complete by the end of the weekend.

If anyone is interested in donating to the Menasha tornado fund, we will be collecting donations at Wolf River Metal Fab LLC W7632 Balsam Ln. Shawano 54166 From 4:30 to 8:30 tonight ant tomorrow. My wife and I will deliver all donated items to Wisconsin International Raceway Thursday. The Fox River Racing Club and WIR are collecting. I thought if anyone from the Shawano are was interested in donating,we could deliver it to the Track. The text below was copied from the FRRC page.

Wisconsin International Raceway will be an official collection site for tornado victim donations. Right now, emergency responders ask that you only bring the highly requested, specific items listed below so we do not overwhelm operations.

📅 When: THURSDAY, July 30 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

📋 WHAT IS NEEDED & ACCEPTED:
💧 Hydration: Bottled water and sports drinks (critical due to local boil water orders and power outages)🧹 Clean-up Supplies: Heavy-duty trash bags, work gloves, and cleaning supplies to help families clear debris.

I didn't get much work done this week but this is what I have. More to come tomorrow! I had someone come in today that wanted to learn how to weld and create art out of metal! He came in and I taught him a little of what I do. He welded half of this dream catcher! He is the nicest (kid) you will ever meet. He is twenty-something, 23, 25? He is a good guy. I showed him how I make the arrowheads, how a welder works, even though I'm not a welder, how to use the plasma cutter. I think he had fun. He said he is coming back tomorrow. I love to see how people want to try new things. I may not be a master at what I do, but I want people to have the same chance to do what I do. I have to thank my wife and her late husband for building this great shop and giving me the chance to share the happiness with others. I never thought I would love to teach people. When working, I was probably the worst person to train new employees. I may have been too short with them because I wanted to get the job done, but it is different with art. I want to make them understand the tools they work with and be comfortable with what they are creating along with being safe at the same time. I have to get done with the two dream catchers tomorrow for sure, hopefully before he shows up so I can have him create some of his own art. This is what we did today! I also have to thank Rob Jüng’s MetalArt for inspiration on bringing students in and teaching. I have been watching his page and he has a great youth program going on. I may not be ready for the whole program thing, but I am willing to teach anyone who wants to make metal art.
