When November temperatures drop, you might hear a sudden SCREECH from under the hood when starting your engine! Cold air contracts rubber and makes aging belts stiff. If your belt tensioner is slightly worn, the belt slips against the alternator and power steering pulleys for the first 10 seconds until it warms up.

This is exactly why we test batteries instead of guessing.
The battery shown here tested good, but it also needed to be recharged. That’s useful information for both our tech and the customer because “good” doesn’t always mean there’s nothing else to know.
