Fall in Kentucky is short. This backyard makes it last.

Pumpkins on the lawn, a fire in the stone fireplace, and a blanket on the couch. Under this louvered pergola, the game is on, the screens are down to block the wind, and nobody is rushing inside.

This space started as an old deck. Now it’s a stamped concrete patio, a gas fireplace, a louvered pergola, and motorized screens that turn a chilly evening into the best seat in the house.

You don’t have to give up your backyard when the temperature drops. You just need the right plan, and we’ll handle the design and the build.

Before: an old deck nobody wanted to sit on.

After: a backyard this family will use every single day.

Here’s what we did:

✔️ Tore out the old deck
✔️ Poured a stamped concrete patio
✔️ Built a gas fireplace for cool fall nights
✔️ Installed a louvered pergola for shade and rain protection
✔️ Added motorized screens so bugs and wind stay out

Now they can host, relax, and enjoy their yard from spring through the first frost. No more picking the weather over the party.

Dreaming up your own outdoor living space? We design it, manage the build, and take care of every detail so you don’t have to. Come see louvered pergolas, screens, and outdoor kitchens in person at our Shelbyville Design Center, 570 Gordon Lane, Shelbyville, KY 40065.

Every Thanksgiving host knows this one. The turkey’s in the oven, the kitchen is packed, and you’re missing the conversation.

Now picture the rest of the meal moving outside. Appetizers on the grill, sides warming at the counter, drinks poured at the bar, and everyone gathered around you. Nobody gets pushed out of the kitchen, and you actually sit at your own table.

That’s what a well-designed outdoor kitchen does. We design it around how you host, manage the build, and make it look like it was always part of your home.

Fall is the best season to be outside, and your patio should feel like it.

Here’s how to dress up your outdoor space this season:

Layer in warm textures. A rust throw and a few cozy pillows make a seating area feel like an invitation.

Bring in the harvest. Mums, pumpkins, and grasses in big planters add instant color.

Light it up. Lanterns and candles give you that glow as the days get shorter.

Cover it right. A louvered pergola lets you open the blades for crisp autumn sunshine or close them when the weather turns. The fan and built-in lighting keep it comfortable from morning coffee to evening gatherings.

Your backyard can be the place everyone wants to be this fall. We’re here to help you design it.

Install day update.

We’re back at this project, and the pergola is officially up. We lifted the whole structure into place this morning, and it’s bolted to the house on this side. It’s a clean build with just one support post out in the corner, so nothing gets in the way of the view.

Next up:

✔️ A screen across the longer side and shorter side for shade and bug-free evenings
✔️ A 6,000 watt Bromic radiant heater on the back wall that warms about 12 feet, enough to cover most of the patio

When it’s done, these homeowners will have an outdoor living space they can use in the rain, the shine, the heat, and the first cool nights of fall. Add some furniture and they have a second living room.

Want a covered patio, louvered pergola, or outdoor living space like this at your Louisville, Lexington, or Northern Kentucky home? Stop by our Shelbyville Design Center at 570 Gordon Lane, Shelbyville, KY 40065 and let’s plan yours.

Fall entertaining is better under a gable.

October is the best month to host. The air is crisp, the sunsets are showing off, and the evenings invite you to stay out a little longer. This louvered gable pergola in Simpsonville, KY shows why a covered space makes it even better.

A roof that adjusts. Open the louvers for the stars, close them if a cold front rolls in. Rain does not cancel your plans.

A roofline that opens the view. The peaked gable frames the sky like a picture window. Guests get a front-row seat to the sunset without leaving the cover.

Height that feels like a room. The vaulted ceiling gives you space to breathe, and it makes a fire table and a full seating area feel like part of the home.

Warm light in the louvers. Integrated LED lighting glows along the gable rafters after dark, so the party keeps going.

Fire, food, and blankets. A fire table, a charcuterie board, and chunky throws are all you need.

Homeowners in Simpsonville, Shelbyville, Louisville, Lexington, and Northern Kentucky are already planning their fall gatherings. If you want a gable pergola at your place, let's talk.

A year ago, we started this project with a homeowner who had a big vision for their backyard. Then we found something underneath it all: a problem with their septic system.

Not the kind of surprise anyone wants. But building over a problem doesn’t fix it. So we paused, helped our customer get the septic issue sorted the right way, and made sure the ground was ready for what’s going on top of it.

It’s resolved now. The wait is over, and install is about to begin.

This is what we do at Louvered Outdoor. We guide you through the hard parts so you end up with an outdoor space built to last. Sometimes that means slowing down first so the finished project is done right.

Stay tuned. The best part is coming.
