Shelby Energy Mourns the Loss of Former Board Chair, Ashley Chilton

Shelby Energy is deeply saddened by the passing of Ashley Chilton on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 84. Ashley served on the Board of Directors of Shelby Energy for over forty years with several of the years in the Chairman’s role. Shelby Energy saw great progress during Mr. Chilton’s tenure where he provided continued support for the betterment of the membership. Ashley was also supportive of his community over the years while being a successful banker, real estate professional, and insurance provider also serving on several other community boards.

We will miss our friend and colleague as he is laid to rest on Saturday, June 20. Please keep Ashley’s family in your thoughts as they navigate this difficult time.

Shelby Energy Cooperative Board Selects Tyler Singleton to Fill Board Vacancy.

The Board of Directors of Shelby Energy Cooperative is pleased to welcome Tyler Singleton as the newest director. Tyler has been selected to fill the vacancy on the Board left by the untimely passing of Roger Taylor in December.

Mr. Singleton is a lifelong resident of Henry County and is a Commercial and Architectural Sales Associate with Lee Building Products in Louisville. He lives in Pleasureville with his family and attended Northern Kentucky University.

Tyler will represent the second district which encompasses Henry County and that portion of Owen County served by the Cooperative.

Shelby Energy Cooperative will have a meter testing contractor (Luthan Electric Meter Testing) in the area the next few weeks performing an annual test on a number of our meters. During this time you may see contractor vehicles in your area. Your presence is not required in order to test the meter however; should you be available, feel free to observe the testing process and ask any questions you may have concerning the procedure.
