Good chilly morning Wyoming! We have extreme cold this week so be sure to dress in layers, limit your outside exposure, wear all outdoor cold weather gear to protect yourself from the elements and warm up in your truck as needed. Frostbite can occur in minutes, depending on the windchill and air temps. Fingers toes, earlobes and the tip of the nose are the most vulnerable parts of the body to frostbite.

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we post the loss of Mike York, loyal employee, coworker, supervisor and friend on Thursday, Feb 6. Mike was a long-term employee of Wood having started his career as a Lease Operator and working his way into an Area Superintendent position. We continue to keep the family in thought and prayer as we grieve this tragic loss with them.

A huge THANKS to our employees, friends and family members who joined in the Double Raffle Giveaway that took place in November. Over $8500 was raised, an outstanding accomplishment once again. The raffle winner of ½ a beef was TRACY COLSON with TYLER CUNNINGHAM winning the other ½ a beef for selling the most tickets. Congratulations to both of you.

Just what did those funds go to? This year, the proceeds provided Toys for Tots with a focus on kids who had aged out, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for Veterans and you all provided Christmas to 8 kiddos in Buffalo and 6 kiddos in Gillette. The funds will also be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies for kids in need in the Sheridan, Buffalo and Gillette school districts. Thank you to the Wood employees and community members who purchased and sold tickets to make this happen.

We recently participated in our biannual Highway Cleanup out at the Powder River office. We have been doing this for right around 10 years now! It's so refreshing to see the difference we make in helping to keep our Wyoming highways looking beautiful! 😁
