The details matter. Every white oak cabinet in our homes is hand-finished to bring out the natural beauty and character of the wood. No shortcuts, no factory look—just timeless craftsmanship built to last.

This is where a house starts feeling like a home.

Paint starts tomorrow.

The cabinets have been carefully prepped, floors are protected, windows are masked, and every detail is ready for the next stage. A great paint finish doesn’t happen by accident—it starts with thorough preparation.

Tomorrow this house starts taking on its personality.

Under contract.

This one isn’t even finished yet, and we’re incredibly thankful for the interest it has received.

It’s easy to focus on square footage, finishes, and features, but what means the most to us is seeing buyers connect with the thought and care that goes into every home we build.

From the custom built-ins and trim details to the layouts and selections, our goal has always been to create homes that feel intentional—not just another house built to check a box.

We’re grateful for the trust our clients continue to place in Down Home Customs. This home is officially under contract, but we are accepting backup offers.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along with this build. We have more exciting projects on the way.

Paint stage is officially underway and this is one of our favorite points in the build process — when all the vision finally starts coming together.

Trim is complete. Cabinets are in. And now you can really start to see the level of detail that separates a thoughtfully designed home from a thrown-together spec house.

The clean trim lines, the built-ins, the cabinet layout, the way every detail flows together from room to room. None of it is random.

This is why we care so much about the details at Down Home Customs. They’re the things that make a house feel different long after the newness wears off.

The little things are never actually little to us.

At trim stage is where a home really starts to show whether it was thoughtfully designed… or just quickly assembled. Every detail in these spaces was intentional. The vertical shiplap wrapping the entire laundry room, the way it ties seamlessly into the living room built-in, the custom pantry shelving with open storage and functional workspace — all of it was planned to flow together as one cohesive design.

We pay attention to the transitions, the proportions, the materials, and how each room connects to the next. Not just adding “features” for the sake of it, but creating homes that feel complete, timeless, and well thought out from every angle.

This is the stage where craftsmanship matters most, and it’s one of the reasons a Down Home Customs home feels different the moment you walk in.

We’ve always believed there’s a difference between adding features… and creating a home that actually feels intentional.

A lot of spec homes today feel like they were built from a checklist. Random accent walls. Trendy finishes that don’t connect. “Character” added in isolated spots with no real flow from one room to the next. Or the opposite — so many competing details that the house starts to feel busy and overstated.

When we design a home at Down Home Customs, we think about the entire experience. How the flooring tone works with the cabinetry. How the trim style carries through the house. How the lighting, wood accents, paint colors, tile selections, and built-ins all speak the same language without screaming for attention.

We want homes to feel layered, timeless, warm, and cohesive — not like every room was designed separately from a Pinterest screenshot.

That’s why you’ll see things like:
• Consistent architectural lines
• Intentional contrast and texture
• Built-ins that actually fit the space
• Natural wood tones balanced with soft neutrals
• Custom details that complement instead of compete

The goal isn’t to overdo it.
The goal is for someone to walk in and feel like everything simply belongs.

That’s the difference thoughtful design makes.

That’s the difference Down Home Customs makes.

Most spec homes are built to check boxes.
We build them to feel different the second you pull in the driveway.

Higher roof pitches. Timeless lines. Real character. Thought behind every detail. From the oversized garage to the warm tones, custom textures, and curb appeal that doesn’t look like every other house on the street.

This one’s still in progress, but you can already see the vision coming together.

Kitchen is finally starting to show its personality. 👌

Warm white oak inset cabinets, stacked uppers, oversized island, and clean architectural lines throughout. This one was designed to feel custom and timeless from the start — not trendy.

Still a lot of work left, but cabinet install days are always one of the biggest turning points in a build.

The arches + these natural wood tones are going to look incredible once the floors, counters, and lighting all come together.

One thing that’s hard to capture in photos is how much usable backyard this place has.

Flat lot. Huge outdoor space. Covered patio. Plenty of room for a pool, shop, kids, dogs… whatever fits your lifestyle.

This is the kind of lot people wish they had after they move into a neighborhood.”

Building homes is cool.

Building them while your kids grow up around it is even better. 👌

This little guy thinks the skid steer is the greatest invention in human history and honestly… he might not be wrong.

Making progress on the backyard grade and getting this one ready for final exterior touches.”
