There’s a lot of hard work behind every GreenGrids project.

It’s early mornings, long days, heavy lifting, problem solving, climbing roofs, working through the heat, and making sure the job gets done right. It takes skill, determination, and a crew that can count on each other.

This Labor Day, we want to recognize the people behind the work.

To our GreenGrids team, thank you for showing up, putting in the hours, taking pride in your craft, and representing our company well on every jobsite. Every system installed and every milestone we reach has your hard work behind it.

We’re proud of what we’ve built together, and even more proud of the people building it.

Happy Labor Day from GreenGrids.

☀️ Friday feels even better when you’re ending the week with solar!

Another GreenGrids install is officially up and running! ⚡️

🏠 6.75 kW solar system
☀️ 15 panels
📈 8,731.4 kWh estimated first-year production
💪 135% energy offset

That’s more than enough solar production to cover this homeowner’s estimated energy needs — putting their system to work today and helping them take a big step toward greater energy independence.

Now that’s a Friday win.

Have a great weekend from all of us at GreenGrids! 🌱☀️

Solar should never start with, “How many panels can we fit on your roof?”

It should start with understanding your home.

Before GreenGrids recommends a system, we look at the things that actually matter: your current energy usage, roof space and orientation, shade throughout the day, your household’s energy needs, and what you ultimately want solar to accomplish.

Because two houses sitting right next to each other could need two completely different systems.

Maybe your goal is to offset as much of your electric usage as possible. Maybe you’re thinking about how your energy needs could change in the future. Or maybe you simply want to know if solar makes financial sense for your home in the first place.

Those are the conversations worth having before a single panel goes up.

At GreenGrids, the goal isn’t to sell you the biggest system we can. It’s to design the right one.

29 panels don’t look all that dramatic sitting on a roof.

But producing an estimated 14,491 kWh of electricity every year? That’s where things get interesting.

Solar isn’t really about the panels. It’s about changing where your power comes from, putting your roof to work, and relying a whole lot less on electricity you have to keep buying from the utility company year after year.

This recent GreenGrids installation is now set up to do exactly that. 29 panels. An estimated 14,491 kWh of annual production. And a roof that officially has a second job. ☀️⚡️

Curious what your roof could be producing? Let’s run the numbers. greengridssolar.com/contact

121% ENERGY OFFSET. NOW THAT’S A GOOD WAY TO END THE WEEK. ☀️⚡️

This latest GreenGrids install is putting 33 solar panels to work, with an estimated first-year production of 16,588 kWh.

But the number we really like? 121% estimated energy offset.

That means this system was designed to produce more electricity over the course of the year than this home is currently expected to use.

That’s what we mean when we say solar isn’t one-size-fits-all. We look at the home, the energy usage, and the goals, then design a system that makes sense for the people living there.

Another roof working smarter. Another homeowner taking more control over where their energy comes from.

Not a bad way to head into the weekend.

Solar isn't really about the panels.

Sure, the panels get all the attention. They're the part you see on the roof.

But the real conversation is about what happens underneath them.

It's about how much you're spending on electricity every month. How that cost has changed over the years. And how much you'll continue paying the utility company over the next 10, 15, or 20 years.

Solar gives homeowners another option.

Instead of simply buying the electricity your home needs month after month, you can produce a portion, or in some cases all, of it right at home.

That's why when we talk about going solar, we're not just talking about putting panels on a roof.

We're talking about changing where your power comes from and taking more control over what it costs you.

Curious what that could look like for your home? Let's run the numbers.

This roof just became a whole lot more productive. ☀️⚡️

With 38 solar panels now in place, this GreenGrids installation is expected to produce approximately 10,710 kWh of clean energy in its first year, enough to offset about 75% of this household’s annual energy use.

That means less electricity pulled from the grid, less exposure to rising utility costs, and more of this home’s energy being produced right where it’s being used.

75% energy offset. One smart upgrade. Years of potential savings ahead.

Your roof has a day job. It just might not be paying you yet.

Day after day, sunlight hits thousands of square feet of rooftops across Northern Illinois while the homes underneath them continue buying electricity from the utility company.

Solar changes the equation.

Instead of letting all that sunshine go unused, solar panels turn your roof into an energy-producing part of your home — helping offset the electricity you would otherwise have to purchase from the grid.

Solar isn’t only about what you can save this month. It’s about looking at the years ahead and asking a bigger question:

How much electricity will I buy from the utility over the next 10, 15, or 20 years if I do nothing?

Your roof is already there.
The sun is already showing up.

Maybe it’s time to put both of them to work. ☀️⚡️

There is something satisfying about watching a new solar array come together panel by panel, knowing that every component is working toward one goal: producing clean, reliable energy for decades to come.

Our crew recently completed the installation of this 9 kW solar system, featuring 20 panels with an estimated annual production of 12,958 kWh. Even more impressive, this system is expected to provide a 130% energy offset for the homeowner, producing more energy than the home is projected to consume each year.

That means lower utility bills, greater energy independence, and long-term savings that continue year after year. Another successful installation is officially in the books, and we couldn't be happier for this homeowner. ☀️⚡️

There is something especially satisfying about seeing a brand-new solar array go live.

This recent GreenGrids installation features 19 panels and an 8.55 kW system capable of producing an estimated 9,704.3 kWh during its first year. Based on this homeowner's average annual energy usage, that translates to an estimated 152% energy offset.

That means more clean energy being produced right at home, lower utility bills, and the peace of mind that comes from generating more power than the home is expected to consume.

Every installation is designed around the unique needs of the homeowner, and this system is a great example of how the right solar solution can deliver long-term savings while putting energy independence within reach.

Congratulations to this family on making the switch to solar and thank you for choosing GreenGrids! ☀️⚡️
