When discussing steel, there is a wide range to consider. 🤔 Here are the four primary types of steel:
✔️ Carbon Steel: Known for its strength and durability, carbon steel is categorized into low, medium, and high-carbon grades based on carbon content. It is commonly used in automotive components, structural applications, high-tension wire, and cutting tools.
✔️ Alloy Steel: Made by combining steel with elements such as nickel, chromium, copper, or aluminum, alloy steel offers enhanced strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in automotive parts, pipelines, shipbuilding, and industrial machinery.
✔️ Tool Steel: Designed for hardness, wear resistance, and performance at high temperatures, tool steel often contains elements such as tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt. It is commonly used for cutting tools, dies, molds, and industrial tooling.
✔️ Stainless Steel: Containing at least 10.5% chromium, stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion and staining. Its versatility makes it ideal for medical equipment, food processing, household products, architectural applications, and exterior building cladding.
