🔨 Another Laundry Room Transformation Completed!
Sometimes the biggest improvements are the ones hidden behind the walls.
For this project, the homeowner needed their laundry room reconfigured to better fit their layout. We:
✔️ Opened the existing wall
✔️ Relocated the washer box to a new location
✔️ Capped lines from an old sink/ added an ice maker box
✔️ Installed new water supply lines
✔️ Ran a new drain line
✔️ Patched and finished the drywall, leaving it ready for primer and paint
When the work is done right, it should look like it was always built that way.

Another clean TV wall prep completed.
For this project we:

✔️ Mounted the TV wall bracket
✔️ Installed a new recessed power outlet behind the TV
✔️ Fished wiring through the wall and tied into the existing circuit
✔️ Left the installation clean and ready for the homeowner's TV

Some of the most rewarding days are spent helping homeowners take care of the projects that have been sitting on their to-do list.

Today's visit included:

✔️ Running a new electrical connection for the microwave
✔️ Swapping out a TV wall bracket and reinstalling the television
✔️ Installing a new TV wall mount and mounting another TV
✔️ Repairing and touching up ceiling stains from a previous HVAC leak

✨ Hi, everyone! I'm Holly S. Deerman, and I'm the proud owner of J & H Outdoor and Home, a woman-owned Residential Repair and Outdoor construction company serving all of Baldwin County.

A little about me...

By day, I'm a local Baldwin County school teacher. I'm also a wife, a proud mom to some amazing grown children, and someone who believes a house becomes a home through hard work, creativity, and a whole lot of care.

I've always loved home improvement projects, but my passion truly grew after meeting my husband. Watching his incredible talent for remodeling, repairs, and transforming spaces inspired us to turn what we both love into a business dedicated to serving our community.

At J & H Outdoor and Home, we believe every homeowner deserves quality craftsmanship, dependable service, and a team that truly cares about bringing their vision to life. Whether it's a small repair or a major renovation, we're committed to treating every project as if it were our own.

On some projects, before the framing is covered, before the trim goes up, before the paint is finished, we like to write a scripture somewhere in the space.

Most people will never see it again once the job is complete.

But we know it’s there.

For us, this work is not just about being another contractor in an already crowded construction market. It’s not just about lumber, trim, drywall, paint, flooring, or finishing a checklist.

We genuinely love what we do.

There is something special about helping turn a space into something a family will live in, gather in, walk through every day, and hopefully enjoy for years to come.

Project Spotlight: 20x40 Workshop Buildout

We recently completed the interior framing for a 20x40 buildout inside an existing metal building/workshop.

This project included laying out and framing defined interior spaces, wall sections, door openings, overhead framing, and the structure needed to turn an open shop area into a more functional, usable space.

Not every transformation starts with paint and finishes. Sometimes the biggest part of the job is getting the layout, framing, and bones of the project right from the beginning.

Whether it’s a workshop, storage area, office space, hobby room, or future finished interior, a clean framing package sets the foundation for everything that comes next.

This side entry got a clean upgrade with a custom-built door awning, metal roofing, proper flashing, painted white trim to match the home, and a new 4x5 concrete landing with proper fall to move water away from the door.

Small details like this improve curb appeal, protect the entry, and make everyday use safer and cleaner.
