Video of an instant off measurement with the current interrupter cycling at 10 sec On and 2.5 sec Off. At the end of the 2.5 sec cycle the potential dips below -850 mV CSE to -847 mV CSE. I've read before that you wait about 2 seconds before recording the instant off potential. With my meter though you can see where the inflection point of the IR drop occurs and at that point you are just getting potential decay. My question: is the instant off potential -888 mV CSE or -847 mV CSE (which can be seen toward the bottom of the meter after I record the waveform)? And do you think this point meets the -850 mV CSE I/O criteria?

Here we see a, interesting, mechanical 'wedge' attachment of a anode to steel product pipe found during a system survey. Mechanical attachment points can develop high resistance over time due to the build up of corrosion products between the clamp/structure and should be avoided is possible. In the UST industry, mechanical attachment is common though because thermite welding on metal with an unknown thickness is dangerous and pin brazing has high initial tool costs. This leaves mechanical attachment as an economical and safe connection method for CP. The continuity of these connection types should be verified during inspections to ensure CP current is reaching the target structure.
