This morning, Riemer Custom Construction LLC is on-site as Pederson Plumbing is performing a major plumbing overhaul as part of a larger renovation project. During our investigation, we uncovered something that stopped us in our tracks.

A previous contractor had vented a main-floor clothes dryer directly into the vent system serving a second-floor dryer, with no proper dedicated exhaust to the exterior of the home. The result? An unsafe and improper dryer venting system that created a significant fire hazard, restricted airflow, increased lint accumulation, and put the home and family at unnecessary risk.

In over 30 years of hands-on construction experience, there is always something new to discover. While every project presents challenges, this is one of the most negligent and unsafe dryer vent installations we’ve encountered.
