Five years—and a lot built along the way!

This year marks five years with W.A. Klinger for Project Manager Olivia Epling.

Since joining our Sioux City team, Olivia has taken on increasingly complex projects across the region and currently leads several projects, including the new Rosen School of Business at Morningside University in Sioux City.

Olivia also makes time to give back to the Sioux City community, including serving on the Girls Inc. of Sioux City Board of Directors.

There’s a lot taking shape in Milford, Iowa.

Yesterday, W.A. Klinger K-12 Leader and Project Executive Chad White gave Okoboji Elementary’s principal and members of several of the district’s committees an up-close look at progress on the new elementary school.

W.A. Klinger is serving as construction manager for Okoboji Community School District’s building projects, which include the new elementary school as well as additions and renovations at Okoboji High School.

Thirty years ago, Klinger Companies hired its first IT employee.

Shelly Krohn, Vice President of IT, is celebrating 30 years with Klinger—and she's been part of nearly every evolution in our technology since she arrived in 1996.

From integrated accounting and project management systems to supporting offices, jobsites, and employees across the country, Shelly has helped our companies adapt through decades of change. Today, that means keeping hundreds of employees connected and equipped while navigating an increasingly complex technology landscape.

There may be few roles at Klinger that touch every corner of our organization quite like Shelly's. Over the years, she's worked with virtually every person in our offices—and probably solved a technology problem or two for most of us along the way.

Through major implementations, everyday troubleshooting and plenty of challenges in between, Shelly continues to approach her work with patience, a smile and a focus on making sure our teams have what they need.

Inside the UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Birth Center in Sioux City, Klinger completed a NICU renovation with 20 acute care rooms, updated architectural details, etched glass, and fiber optic lighting that creates a twinkling starlight effect.

It’s a strong example of how healthcare spaces can be functional, detailed, and thoughtfully designed for the people who use them every day.

As students head back to school, the new Sheldon High School reflects more than a completed construction project.

Twenty-five years of experience brings more than knowledge—it brings perspective.

This year, Project Superintendent Kirk Bradley marked 25 years with W.A. Klinger. Throughout his career, Kirk has become a trusted leader in the field and an invaluable resource for our entire construction management team.

Known for his planning, forward-thinking approach, and willingness to embrace new technology, Kirk brings a field perspective that helps our teams work through challenges and develop better processes. He's also a patient mentor and has played an important role in advancing safety initiatives across our jobsites.

That same steady leadership carries over to the relationships Kirk builds with our clients. His calm, professional approach—especially when challenges arise—helps keep teams focused and projects moving forward.

Today, Kirk is putting that experience to work overseeing Phase 2 of the Okoboji High School Additions & Renovations project in Milford, Iowa.

For Cadrien Livingston, safety has been the focus of her career for the past 10 years.

Cadrien joined Klinger Companies earlier this summer as our Director of Safety, bringing a decade of safety leadership experience and a background rooted in agriculture.

Before making the move to construction, Cadrien worked in the agricultural industry, where she was responsible for safety across 15 grain elevator locations. She's now putting that experience to work alongside our teams and clients, helping keep projects safe and running smoothly while taking on the new challenges and problem-solving that come with construction.

A University of Nebraska–Lincoln graduate, Cadrien's agricultural roots extend beyond her professional experience. Outside of work, she enjoys helping with her family's cattle operation near O'Neill, kayaking, and horseback riding. She's also active in her community, serving as chair of Hubbard Hoot Owl Days.

We're glad to have Cadrien on the Klinger team and look forward to the experience, perspective, and leadership she brings to our people and projects.

A little friendly competition can go a long way.

Our W.A. Klinger office and field teams recently joined a food drive challenge with our friends from Barnhart Crane, all with one goal: to collect as much as we could for the Siouxland Soup Kitchen.

Earlier this week, we delivered the haul—and a special thank-you goes to our field personnel who jumped in to support the effort. They're usually busy keeping our projects moving when opportunities like this come around, so it was great to have some of them there for the delivery, too.

The Siouxland Soup Kitchen provides 150–200 free meals each night to anyone in need—more than 3,000 meals each month—with the support of community donors and volunteers.

Supporting their mission means even more to our team, as W.A. Klinger has been entrusted to serve as the construction partner for their current renovation project. We're grateful for the opportunity to support the Soup Kitchen both on the jobsite and beyond.

Two job offers isn't bad for your first career fair—especially when you're still in elementary school!

Last week, Project Manager Olivia Epling joined fellow Girls Inc. of Sioux City board members and community volunteers for the Career Showdown, the culmination of the organization's nine-week "Amazing Shake" Career Readiness Program.

Throughout the program, 4th- and 5th-grade girls worked on making strong first impressions, communicating professionally, developing interview skills and building confidence. The Career Showdown put those skills into practice through a reverse job fair, where the girls became the candidates and shared their experiences, strengths, and goals with local professionals.

Olivia interviewed Orianthi, pictured here, and was impressed by her confidence and preparation. She had researched the career she was interested in, shared thoughtful answers, and spoke enthusiastically about her goals for the future. Olivia wasn't the only one who noticed—Orianthi received two of the nine "job offers" presented that day!

Opportunities like this give young people a place to discover what they're capable of and the confidence to imagine what's possible next. Thank you to Girls Inc. of Sioux City, Sioux City Career Academy, and everyone who gave their time to encourage these young women along the way.

Please join us in congratulating Alizabeth Powell and Kevin Schultz on their recent promotions within Klinger Companies.

Both are members of the Klinger Companies team, providing leadership and support across W.A. Klinger and our affiliated companies.

Alizabeth has been promoted to Vice President/Controller. Since joining Klinger in 2015, she has led our accounting team while continually finding ways to strengthen and improve our processes. In her expanded role, Alizabeth will continue serving as Controller while taking on additional leadership responsibilities across the organization.

Kevin has been promoted to Vice President of Risk & Safety. Since joining Klinger as Risk Manager in 2016, his responsibilities have grown to include contract review and negotiation, property and casualty insurance, claims oversight, property management and, most recently, oversight of our safety program.

Both Alizabeth and Kevin have continued to grow with Klinger, taking on new challenges and greater responsibilities along the way. We appreciate the experience and leadership they bring to our companies and look forward to their continued contributions in these expanded roles.
