🔨 BIG THINGS HAPPEN WHEN EXPERIENCE, TEAMWORK, AND KNOWLEDGE COME TOGETHER 🔨

Today marked a major milestone in one of our exterior renovation projects here in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Our team successfully removed an overloaded 10" x 10" x 25' cedar beam and replaced it with a W8x28 structural steel I-beam weighing approximately 700 pounds. This new beam will properly support the load of a new roof structure being built over an existing wood trellis, transforming the space into a more comfortable and functional outdoor living and entertaining area for our wonderful clients.

This wasn't simply a matter of swapping one beam for another. It required careful planning, engineering, specialized equipment, and a team with the knowledge and skill to execute the work safely and precisely. With over 100 combined years of construction experience on-site today, every member of the team played a critical role in making this installation a success.

Most importantly, the work was completed with a commitment to safety, precision, and professionalism—values that guide every project we undertake.

We're proud of our team, grateful for our clients' trust, and excited to continue bringing this renovation to life.

You may or may not be a fan of Dave Ramsey, but if you're considering a home renovation, take a few minutes to listen to the opening segment of this Ramsey Network podcast. It highlights a contractor who openly admits to using new client deposits to pay for past and ongoing projects—essentially robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated situation. It’s a widespread issue in the renovation industry, often rooted in poor financial management and a lack of transparent accounting practices. No homeowner should ever be left wondering where their money is going.

As contractors, we believe it’s our responsibility to educate and protect our clients. And as a homeowner, it’s your responsibility to ask the right questions.

1) How much of a deposit do you need to schedule our project? A contractor needs finances to order long-lead time materials (cabinetry, appliances, windows, exterior doors, tile, etc..) and pay for the initial costs like building permits, blueprints, demolition labor, dumpsters and rough framing. Anything beyond that it too much, in my honest opinion.

2) Do you have a written and agreed to payment schedule? A properly scheduled project should also have a properly scheduled payment schedule so you can anticipate when your contractor is going to be asking for the next round of funding.

3) Where does my deposit get held by your company? We use stand-alone escrow accounts, setup at our local bank and we provide our clients viewing access to that account. This allows our clients peace of mind to be able to visually confirm that their deposited funds are only be used for their project.

4) How do you handle changes in the scope of work on a project and when changes occur, how are those credits/costs handled? We use a written change order form that is agreed to by all evolved prior to the scope of work being changed. Pending the change, we agree on a credit/cost schedule at the time of the change order ex*****on.

Don’t rush the process. Don’t blindly hand over your hard-earned money. Take the time to understand how your contractor manages finances, schedules, and project funds before moving forward.

Knowledge is protection—make sure you have it before you commit.

Today, we’ll hear about:• A man dealing with the consequences of bad financial decisions• A manager whose team is upset they didn’t receive profit sharing• A...
