Northshore High School's FIRST Robotics Team 1912 Combustion, located in Slidell, Louisiana, was established in the fall of 2005 by a small group of seniors. Since then, we have expanded into a diverse family of mentoring professionals and enthusiastic students from all grades. In 2014 we welcomed new members from Salmen High School into our Combustion family. As we implemented the values and goal

s of FIRST throughout the seasons, every student was able to leave the team enriched with vital science, engineering, and real-life skills. The overwhelming task of building a functioning, effective robot within six weeks challenges students to communicate, cooperate, and learn as a team. Throughout this intense timeframe team members absorb everything from project management to programming and power-drilling, and become dedicated to promoting science and technology. Our love for teamwork and engineering extends into the off-season with demos, volunteering, workshops, and camps throughout the region. With so many places to go and events to run, students here at Northshore and Salmen discover that building the robot is only the beginning of their FIRST experience.

Team 1912 Combustion is proud to announce the schedule for this year’s FIRST Saturdays!

FIRST Saturdays are completely free and happen almost every first Saturday of the month. Our mission is to make STEM fun and not just something you learn in a classroom! We bring the kids in, teach them about a variety of different topics, (this year's theme focusing on biology) and do fun experiments to help enhance that knowledge!

Every FIRST Saturday is from 9am to 10:30am at Northshore High school (100 Panther Drive, 70461), room 801!

FIRST Saturdays are sponsored through a gracious donation from the JM Smucker Company!

Northshore Knockout was a blast! 🚀 Thank you to Mandeville Robotics Team 2992 for hosting this event! 🔥

Our amazing alliance partners were Tarpon Robotics 10929 and Bayou Crusaders FRC 9699. We had a great time in the playoffs and we are grateful!

We'd like to invite girls in grades 3-9 to come join us for our annual Women in STEM day!! On May 23rd, 7 women from different STEM careers will present their jobs along with STEM activities. At Northshore High school, 9:30am-3:45pm, come join us along with girls from Mandeville Robotics Team 2992 and FRC #8044, Denham Venom for a fun day of STEM learning and experiments!!
