Working Shop Foreman/Welding Supervisor

This position oversees the welding department, ensuring that all welding
activities meet quality standards, safety regulations, and project deadlines. This person is responsible for managing and training shop employees, overseeing the
maintenance and operation of welding equipment, ensuring adherence to safety
protocols, and coordinating welding tasks and schedules. Requires the ability to review blueprints, drawings and other specification papers before starting work on fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion. Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment required. Must be proficient in structural/fitting, stick, mig/fluxcore/tig welding, plasma and similar equipment. Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate welding job tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and manage, providing guidance, training, and
performance feedback.
· Manage welding equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring availability and
proper maintenance.
· Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA and
other relevant regulations.
· Coordinate welding tasks and schedules.
· Ensure that all welding activities comply with industry standards, specifications,
and quality requirements.
· Organized and detail oriented
· Optimize welding productivity and performance
· Project management
· Evaluates employee performance and accountability
· Provides objective feedback for continued employee growth.
· Readily perceives and effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations.
· Approve and submit employees time.
Skills and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in welding
preferred.
· Previous experience in a welding supervisory role.
· Proficiency in welding techniques and safety protocols.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
· Strong communication skills.
· Primarily shop-based.
· Requires physical stamina for standing and lifting. May involve
exposure to noise, heat, and dust.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip and climb.
· Bilingual helpful but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Shift:
· 40-50 hours average
