SEC Trustee Continues Electric Utility Industry Training

(L-R) Mr. Jayson Moore, Trustee-District #1, receives his "Board Leadership Certificate" from SEC Board President, Mr. Leroy Anaya, Mr. Moore received this recognition upon completion of training provided by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

An ever-changing business environment has imposed new demands on electric cooperative directors, requiring increased knowledge of changes in the electric utility business, new governance skills and a solid knowledge of the cooperative principles and business model.

Socorro Electric Cooperative has a commitment to work through NRECA to sharpen this body of knowledge for the benefit of their electric cooperative consumer-owners.

Team SEC had a great time connecting with awesome students at the Socorro High School Career Fair today!

The SEC Team of Adiranna Arellano,Chief Human Resource Officer, and Jimmy Capps, Director of Communciations, shared what it’s like to work in the electric utility industry and highlighted the many career opportunities available at SEC—from lineworkers and engineers to customer service, IT, and more.

We love encouraging students to explore their interests, ask questions, and imagine what their future could look like right here in our community.
