It’s not every day I get invited to play on a digger—so of course, I couldn’t turn it down! After an old cottage was tore down, I cleared away the leftover rubble, removed some old pier footings, and got to work digging and pouring the new ones.

Ironically, almost to the day seven years ago, I did the same thing for the same guy—digging out a basement, footings, and piers. Funny how history has a way of repeating itself!

The original contractor in this new build took a bone breaking fall, and could not finish. My buddy asked if I'd help, of course i said yes! We started finishing the siding and trim work, and a few days later they wanted us to install all the cabinetry, doors and interior trim. Despite being a brand new build, the structure was way out of level/plumb and twisted something fierce. Even with tight deadlines and obstacles, I think it turned out pretty good.

These are just a few things I've came across lately. Some of these customers paid contractors extra to fix some of these, and obviously they didn't fix anything. You have every right to check out work being done, if you can't physically see, ask for before, during, and after pictures to verify what you've paid for.

So I just ate a whole block of smoked cream cheese and smoked pepper jack from Smokin’ B’s Smoked Cheese with Irish Hills Preserves Jalapeño honey mustard in ham roll-ups and they're delicious! Put all that on a charcuterie board from JMB'S Hobby and have a party! When you're all done, wash the mess off with hand crafted soap from Simply Soaps
