A solar system is an appliance that is generally installed on the most openly exposed part of your roof. A solar powered airplane completed a three day flight across the Pacific ocean powered only by the sun.

The solar impulse can gather enough solar energy during the day to fly for the entire day and store enough extra energy to continue flying through the night.
