Qualifications
β’ To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to multi-task in high-pace work environment
β’ Associate degree from a regionally accredited two-year college and 2+ years' of experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Customer Service; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
β’ Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office, AS400 or SAP and Transportation Management systems
β’ Proficient in Excel
β’ General knowledge of the transportation industry, DOT regulations, transportation rate structures and current trends
β’ Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills
β’ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
β’ Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
Responsibilities
β’ The Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for the effective management and coordination of a fleet of drivers
β’ This position is responsible for the routing and preparation of schedules, as well as dispatching of activities for fleet trucks and drivers
β’ This position is also responsible for arranging backhaul loads both from internal and external sources
β’ Responsible for the full dispatching and changes of fleet drivers and trucks
β’ Identify and evaluate deliveries by requirements, quantities, cost, etc. and arrange for fleet or carrier delivery as appropriate
β’ Problem solving through various transportation events
β’ Seeking and arranging backhaul loads for fleet equipment from both internal and external sources
β’ Perform to established goals and metrics
β’ Other duties as assigned to support the fleet department
β’ May perform other duties as assigned
